Morning all
Checking back in after a few days absence. Work has been a bit chaotic so flying limited to dailies and essentials. I was however granted an unexpected early finish yesterday so I grabbed it with both hands and used the time to...
scrub both bathrooms
strip and change bedding
office, spare, room, landing and top flight of stairs hoovered and dusted
all upstairs bins emptied.
Plan for today will be to to get the rest of the rooms hoovered and dusted, laundry which may need to dry inside weather dependent. We are also planning a big garage sort out, I have tidied it several times but there really is too much stuff in there that never gets used, (or even thought about) I’m hoping DH will get on board and agree to get rid of things, he seems to be agreeing at the moment but actually doing it may prove more difficult, I think we will start with ‘neutral’ sort of items before we start tackling the storage boxes that are stacked at the back!!Hope you are all ok, I will be back later with a progress report x8 -
Morning all
Drizzly, breezy and grey - so I am sitting here with my cuppa still in pjs, although I was with Valli in the WAC for the past couple of nights.Busy day yesterday at work, even though I was in half an hour earlier, I was still behind when 5pm came and the boss wanted to lock up and go home early. I dropped into small town on my way home to pick up a takeaway treat that DD and DH had ordered during the day, and popped into Mr W for the first time since March as I was too early for the allotted takeaway pick up time. Popped in as much as you can when you queue first in the rain, that is. Spent lots of pennies on very few treats, but it is another small hurdle that I have made myself get over - going into a shop in person.Today ideally would be garden / allotment day, but I am not such a fan of getting wet, so will see how the day pans out. My alternative was dressmaking, but DH has (by the sounds of the crashing around above me) unhelpfully just remembered that we had shelves delivered about a month ago for the spare room where all the sewing gibble is. Of course, he was off work until this week, but apparently had no time to put them up then...
Narc0 - I for one love your ramblings! From one procrastinator to another, you give me hope that I might one day get more than basics done!Have a lovely day ladies, I’ll be back later.9 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok today.
Its DHs first day of independence as he finished work yesterday. He'll go back to something eventually but as some long term flyers know, he is an alcoholic so there are other issues to resolve first.
Today I've got one lot of washing in the machine and have just had breakfast. Plans are to clean fridge and meal plan, do dailies and dog walks, and if the weather is kind, to get out in the garden.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
Morning all,
Ramble away Narco, I love reading everyone's news no matter how long or short their postings are. We are amongst friends here xx
Jazee - sending you strength. Both my parents have dependency problems, dad with alcohol, I understand well. Look after yourself as well love xx
Well it's D DAY here, aka drain day! I managed to access the man hole finally myself yesterday (give a woman a power tool and watch her go...), then bagged up loads of ...... (fill in your own blank), attempted to rod it but no luck. So a professional is coming today, he has good reviews and was friendly to me on the phone, which is the best I can go on really. Please keep everything crossed for me ladies.
Flying wise, DW has been emptied, reloaded and put on, WM is done and on the line, kids beds made etc. We do need to nip to asda as DD has no PJs at all that fit her anymore, I would normally get second hand from eBay/charity shops but that's not as practical at the moment, and I cannot face queuing to get into primark!I will no doubt be back later with a progress update xx8 -
Morning xx
I don't know where this week went. Wall calendars still say June at this house! And, looking back, I've been MIA since Monday. I have been reading along in my lunch breaks though - so I've been with you all in spirit. And I must have flown a little at some point as the bathroom has had a little TLC.
I was feeling overwhelmed on Monday so I picked up a pen and paper and did a Brain Dump. I filled one side of A4 paper with individual bullet points. (Just looked at it - calendar on clipboard is still on June too. I need to catch up with myself!!!) First five things on list can be ticked off - oh look, clean basin: Tick
I looked at the weather forecast and the best day for getting washing dry outside is tomorrow so I'm going to leave the laundry off today's list.
I've given up believing that I will ever have a full night's sleep ever again. Read something in the week about blue light from screens affecting sleep patterns - so I'm going to try 'no screen time' after 8pm. I go to bed at 10. I guess that includes TV screens too?
Round 1 =
Brew 2
get washed and dressed
feed birds
put out rubbish
put out recycling
turn page on calendars!

Morning everyone
coffee number two and washing load number one just finishing up. No rain here yet but looking very grey so will make use of the radiators and TD today.
Going to do some life admin today also and upload scans/copies of all important documents to my one drive so I’ve got safe copies in case anything happens to my paper ones.Going to be re-arranging some bedroom furniture today as well as I have got a second cat tree for our kitten to go in our room so he has somewhere to climb and scratch upstairs.Need to work out what to do with some storage boxes I got that were on sale, I think they’ll probably be used for the cleaning products under the sink
Food shopping tonight also, so going to sort through the freezer and see what we’ve got and what is in there that we just won’t eat.9 -
Been playing about on Twitter but I reckon I have had another hour of sleep. Going to my friends for supper we will sit outside so must take something to wrap in. As all beds were stripped yesterday I have a laundry mountain - fwiw I will fold wet washing and peg out the next day. Jazee hope things settle soon re OH. ASB...fingers grossed well crossed but I'm grossed too...ewww

Thank you Honey Bear7 -
I do not know why I decided to get washed and dressed before I made brew two - but I am so glad that I did. Got washed and dressed, came down, put the kettle on, knock at the door - NN (male) from bottom of the garden there wanting me to see where he's planning on putting a fence. Went down the garden with him to be joined by my NDN and his NDN (both male) to look at where the fence will be. Put the fence where you like I'm just glad I'm not still in my nightie
Reasons to be cheerful: (1) NN is putting up a fence to replace falling down one and (2) learned that my NDNs are buying the property (they were renting) and planning on staying. Woot woot. I wanted to hug him but social distancing was maintained at all times.
Round 1 done + eaten breakfast and cleared & put away airer. Oh and photographed the self set poppy on my drive which now has twelve flowers on it and put the photo on fb.

Fingers crossed, ASB x . Or grossed, as Valli said, is probably a way better decsription. And well done ((hugs)) for getting it sorted - DD wants me to call a hairdressers for her, but it takes to much confidence that I don’t have, so I haven’t yet done it. Yet I pick the phone up to strangers at work. Yes, I am weird and illogical.
Hurrah, Round! And no nightie to boot! You are a star 🌟 x
First and probably only load of washing hung up indoors. QHI done, WuLTD, and now I am wandering around in a brain fog. Maybe cuppa 3 is needed...7 -
Fayolle - I'm the same. I never know what I'm picking up when I answer the phone at work but I don't bat an eyelid. At home I loathe phoning the hairdresser, garage, opticians, even the ones I've used for years. And I don't pick up unknown numbers. Weird and illogical r us
Maybe there is a direct correlation with notebooks?
DS and GF have tickets for Yorkshire Wildlife Park this afti - so I've got one eye on the clock as I'm cooking them an early lunch. I ought to come up with Round 2, but I'm going to join Fayolle in another cuppa first - coffee this time...it might wake me up a little. Brain peasouper is the new normal here.
