Morning all. Washload popped on to take advantage of E7, so WM x 3 and DW x 1.
coffee made and slurped and I'm back in bed. Very windy so washing should dry in a trice!
Happy Birthday 🍰 GI hope you have a lovely 😊 day.
Lots of bits to do and must finish DDs top.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear8 -
I'm back in bed with a cuppa too Valli
I've had a busy week with workmen and stuff going on, so rather than having a relaxing day today, DH has invited his mate and family over for a BBQ this afternoon. Now, I'm sure this is the same for many women, but a BBQ is apparently a "day off" from cooking for me. Pah! I'll still have to prep everything, make salads and pasta dishes, organise drinks, run around handing items to cook to DH who will stand diligently by the BBQ ready to flip them, thus providing an entire meal for everyone. Oh and then clear it all away...
I hate BBQs

Morning all. I'm excited today as I am going to a socially distanced gathering at DDs. So far today I have eaten and am showered and dressed. Bed is made and that's about it. Must crack on with the washing up and then walk the dogs.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Good morning! Thanks Valli and Round 😁 I am in bed waiting for a cuppa, which is on it's way.
Round I went out, and there was the tiniest moth that I think I swiped, so fingers crossed it is sorted now! It is one of the new fangled keyless entry, so I can't lock it manually.
Well, tea has been delivered and DH has just got his guitar out and sung happy birthday! 😂
Now, this is a safe place so I am going to say it....I don't like birthdays! I don't like being centre of attention and the fuss, but I also don't like the (sometimes) disappointment that presents can bring where people spend money for the sake of it! Does that sound ungrateful? I can see a large parcel hidden in the corner of the bedroom - I am hoping it's a potting bench!! 😁👍
Flying wise, I don't plan on doing much today! Have a good day everyone!
Dizzy I know exactly what you mean! I hope you have a good day anyway x

Happy birthday, GI, from one birthday-disliker to another 🎂!
Like Round, I spent my evening watching Young Montalbano (on catch up, as we are rationing our way through the main series - DH watches the Italian, I have to keep one eye on the subtitles!), having faffed and pottered my way through the day. I did manage 10 rows / half a pattern of my now hated knitting though. I think that I have found that it isn’t so bad if I do it in the daytime, which usually never happens.
Today, it is blowing a gale, but I think that I need to make a visit to the allotment this morning. The wm is on, but the washing is likely to end up at HoneyBear’s if I peg it out. DD is meeting some friends in a park later to swap birthday presents. I hope it stays dry for them, as they certainly need the social contact, even if it is distanced.Have a lovely day all x6 -
Hi all
Happy Birthday GI, not overly keen on birthdays myself (and dont get me started on Valentines or Mothers Day) but hope its a nice day anyway x
Dizzy I was on my feet from 2pm yesterday until 9pm last night (with some help from DS1), setting up tables and chairs, making salads, making veggie kebabs, organising the meat, organising drinks, then clearing it all away. DH did the cooking. Mum said ooh it will be nice for you not to have to cook, what have you been up to this afternoon? Hmmm.
Bit flat this morning. Debating whether to wash some of the bedding that I brought back from DS2s student accommodation or whether it will just tangle itself around the line. There is no rush to do it. A gentle day I think.
Off to check my finances, spent £45 on food for the BBQ in Li@l, although there is some left for the freezer.8 -
Pots are soaking so nipping in.
Hope the swiping of the moth has cured the problem Goodi xx
Fayolle - I always have subtitles on anyway - can't hear properly. I'm at the 'why do people have to mumble so?' stage that I remember Mum going through. I also need to see people's mouths to know what they've said - it's lead to some shall-we-say-'interesting' conversations at work since mask wearing became a thing.I love the Italian language - but they speak too fast for me lol. I can say 'Come in' now though - avanti. Montalbano says that a lot. Otherwise, Ciao, come stai? is just about my limit. Or mi piaci le suoi occhi. (Don't ask lol) (apologise now for any dodgy spelling)
Towels and tea towel are firmly (I hope) pegged out and blowing every which way as though the wind hasn't decided which way to go.
Pots should be soaked.
Back soon

Round 1 completed + breakfast eaten and second load swished
Round 2 =
peg out WM load 2
WUDUPA a bowl of pots
coffee
I actually like birthdays and fuss. But I do prefer presents when they are wrapped and could contain absolutely anything your heart desires. Once they're opened you know what's in them, and lovely they are too (usually) but I do prefer wondering!

Morning everyone
Not much to get through today, just the towels and bedding I took off yesterday and double check the kids washing baskets.Oh, going to use the oven cleaning kit on our oven today as it’s been a while since we did it and I picked one up on offer last week. Not planning to go anywhere today, so will take advantage of the lack of rain and paint my planters and repot some plants into them8 -
Dog walk done, kitchen sink shined, grass cut out back and I've painted my nails ready to go out. See you all on the new thread.Spend less now, work less later.8
