  • We have our survey being carried out tomorrow, what are peoples experiences of how long after survey to offer?

We instructed our solicitors mid way through our application as we knew the wait times were long, but after a week we got all our searches back and contracts signed. Now we’re just waiting to hear for an exchange date and completion. It’s likely to be before Christmas, so things are moving quite quickly. I do think it depends what part of the region you’re doing the searches as the wait times varies. Good luck to you all
Do you know how long it took your solicitor to review the searches and have the contracts signed?
It took a week for everything, we signed our contracts and sent them back within the week as well. Now they are just waiting for our offer letter from KR to review it and get the exchange of contracts done. I know it’s very frustrating, but definitely hang in there. You will have your offers soon 🤞🏼🙏🏼
How long was your process from the beginning?

Did you have any correspondence from KR to your mortgage advisor in the meantime?

In total 5 weeks. But it was quite stress free if I’m honest, we applied on the 20/10 valuation was instructed on the 23/10 booked in for 11/11 and we got our offer on the 24/11. No additional documents were requested

Congrats!! Wow so I probably should be waiting around that long too then, we're only up to week 2 since fully submitted. Fingers crossed we get it before Christmas!!
  • Update from me that has put a massive spanner in the works - the valuer has come back saying they're not accepting the EWS1 form provided by the developer because the person who signed it doesn't have the 'necessary qualifications'.

Which is madness considering other lenders have accepted that very same form for flats identical to mine in the block. Including my friend, who is with Halifax, they accepted this EWS1 form.

The developer is now saying they are working to get the form signed by someone else - but if anyone who has read the news lately, this process can take months apparently.

KR won't budge until they get a valid valuation. No idea how long this will take. Currently on working day 35 since application.
