7 weeks for us tomorrow. Valuation was last Wednesday...I just hope get an offer this week. Worried the Developers will get anxious and pull. How are people fairing with getting surveys done? Heard there are long wait times for those too?

Hey. We got our mortgage offer two weeks ago but the wait time for the local authority search is 30-35 working days so we have another month to go before these come back and they were ordered back in October. Are yours delayed too?

Thanks for this. what region are you waiting fir our local searches to come back? We’re in the south east and the local search seems to be taking the longest.

We're in Central Bedfordshire. Our sols are using a service provider though and the lead time for those with the council is that long. An official search would've been quicker but by the time we found that out it wouldn't have made a difference.

Okay thanks. Ours is through a service provider too and were submitted on 20th Oct so probably the same sort of timeline as yours.

We instructed our solicitors mid way through our application as we knew the wait times were long, but after a week we got all our searches back and contracts signed. Now we’re just waiting to hear for an exchange date and completion. It’s likely to be before Christmas, so things are moving quite quickly. I do think it depends what part of the region you’re doing the searches as the wait times varies. Good luck to you all

I’m buying in London, ordered searches on Oct 16th and still nothing. I haven’t chased yet though because of still waiting for mortgage offer. Might send an email this week I guess.

The wait is frustrating. And the fact we can't even set an exchange date without those searches. And my solicitor checked and KR don't accept indemnity insurance on new builds so the searches definitely need to come back before any exchange date is set.

Do you know how long it took your solicitor to review the searches and have the contracts signed? 

It took a week for everything, we signed our contracts and sent them back within the week as well. Now they are just waiting for our offer letter from KR to review it and get the exchange of contracts done. I know it’s very frustrating, but definitely hang in there. You will have your offers soon 🤞🏼🙏🏼
