So, ExcludedUK_NoSupport, firstly how are you going to guarantee there will be no fraud.
It's not their job to guarantee no fraud, it's the governments and HMRCs.

Then the government are doing their job.
  • Martin, just want to thank you for your support in our campaign  It seems there are some negative people on here that think we should be excluded. It’s our choice to campaign and we are starting to get noticed 🤞
  • They are trying to wind down the support, they will not now extend the criteria for the various a schemes out there.

As has been suggested many times on the (long running, repetitive and frankly tiresome) thread on the very same subject, there are multiple schemes helping the vast majority. Not everyone can be helped, not every job will be saved.

Your 'campaign' is fruitless and you should focus your endeavours on how to earn income from elsewhere. People are getting second jobs, universal credits, taking advantage of payment holidays on any monthly finance etc.

Your focus should be on this, rather than 'flogging a dead horse'.

Rishi Sunak's response on the Marr show pretty much reiterated they will not extend the eligibility of the schemes further.
Martin Lewis stating in his latest newsletter that Govt should listen. He understands the issues so many face.
No, Mr Sunak is trying to wind down the schemes and has tried since 26/03 to deflect all efforts made to highlight the divisiveness and discriminatory set up of the schemes. He now has more than a bit of egg on his face after the 15/05 TSC report which highlights everything he has been told for 3 months now. All his gets outs taken apart and 'alternative' support measures highlighted for the shambles they are. He still has time to redeem himself with a modicum of respect as it takes the bigger man to admit when he is wrong. We await.
  • An after thought..... us who are exempt from any help, will we have to foot the bill for all this grants and furlough, ie higher tax band (just my own thought) even though we received no help?????
  • I have my own Ltd company, just me supporting my family. I'm an employee of my company just like employees of every other company, I pay my taxes etc exactly like other employees and I am PAYE like every other employee,  no dividends, no cash in hand, none of this imaginary tax avoidance that people seem to think everyone in business for themselves is upto.
I am in receipt of furlough and grateful for it, as small as it is, most of my work being gig economy and not a deal above minimum wage.
So, how am I excluded and why?
Well, I am guilty of running my company from my home address, that's it!  Because of this my company doesn't qualify for any help whatsoever... So, my job is being 'saved' by the government paying me furlough, but there will be no company to go back to because there's no govt assistance to keep it going. What is the point?  15yrs wasted and for what.. the 10k grant that other businesses received (some 25k) would have ensured my business was still there... Now, I probably have a month, probably two left before the inevitable has to be faced.
Not asking for ANYTHING special, just to be treated equally to other companies...  We live in sad times.
The govt has said many times we are all equal and in this together... In the words of Animal Farm, we are all equal, some are more equal than others....

  • Thanks MSE for helping to highlight all of us taxpayers who’ve fallen through the cracks. Having left a 20 year PAYE career in Jan to be self-employed (in an industry that’s ground to an almost total halt), I really appreciate it.  As do so many others who’ve worked hard and paid taxes their entire careers, need help and rightfully want parity with other taxpayers.

Agreed but at the expense of peoples livelihoods and the economy. They could have paid everyone a basic income, instead some people are receiving nothing/pittance, others earning more than before in some cases. Parity is required. They have have everyones tax records and NI numbers.

The comments from the ignorant and misinformed regarding fraud and tax
The current scheme along with cut off dates was designed to help as many people as possible, those people who could be checked quickly online that they were genuine claimants.
Fraud is the main reason it is not extended to those that missed out. If it was open for the newly employed who were not yet on the companys PAYE system then it would be open to massive fraud. We would have one of the biggest monthly Job hirings on record, with family and friends suddenly being employed and stuck on the payroll
