In other news, son 2 has done 2 full weeks at college! (Well, he's on a part time timetable but he hasn't done so many days in a row in over 4 years). Staff are working hard to try and get him talking and engaged and one asked him on Thursday if he could play chess. Son2 said, "Not very well", then the staff member told me it was a "surprisingly competitive game ending in a stalemate" !
Son 1 is still happy in his apprenticeship and doing his paddle sports qualifications this week. My mum and dad left their strict isolation on Friday to see him outside where he works (they started isolating 2-3 weeks before the rest of the UK).
I'm still clearing my aunty's house out. I found it upsetting at first - not just for the obvious reason but also that she had hoarded for decades so it was an overwhelming job. I have become more ruthless as time has gone on and literally hundreds of books and pieces of crockery have gone to charity now. It has made me look at my own stuff. I am quite organised and tidy but I've certainly had a cull/sale of things I do not use, including the piano.
Not sure if I mentioned it but I was also very surprised to suddenly receive my voucher for the Green Homes Grant. I will be getting central heating (booked in for August). I have never lived in a house with central heating! I was going to do a bit of painting but I shall leave everything until after that as they will have to install everything from scratch.5 -
