Great to hear from you Natty. Glad to hear that Dave is improving. Don't let him go back to work too soon - I know people who are still suffering fatigue weeks after their bout of Covid.
Forgot to say in my last post:
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xx8 -
Ditto that ^
Frog munched - dishwasher repairman booked in for Wednesday. It's exactly how I was with my boiler - when the novelty wears off *insert rolling on the floor laughing smily* I get something sorted. The bolognese sauce pan took some scrubbing. (None of my pans, other then frying/wok/crepe pans are non-stick). It sounds possibly terminal - but he can fir them, too so one way or another I might be sorted. But that's a hit for the soffit/fascia savings.

Good morning!
I have had a lazy morning (surprise surprise!). TD is on as it is still raining. Emails & bank accounts checked. That's about it!
Natty it is good to hear from you, and I am glad Dave is on the mend
Pigpen thanks for the heads up re insurance. Funnily enough I have had an email re my annual policy. If I renew it, I want to take off worldwide travel (inc USA) as that is expensive, and we are not going to the USA for the foreseeable! Maybe I could ask the question while I am at it. The family seem to want to rebook, but I am reluctant until they confirm the date.
I still need to do some admin, and the dog will need a walk later, hopefully when it stops raining. I need to think about dinner - shepherds pie sounds like a good idea! I still have a few things to complete off of yesterday's list. So I should probably get busy!
Have a good day everyone!

Thank you very much for the package, pigpen. It's just arrived - I was beginning to think it had got lost en route! And may I compliment you on your restraint in not sending me half of your wool stash? That is perfect, thank you.
It has gone horribly cold as the rain has now arrived here, and I have put on my warm fleece jumper and decided that we too will join the Shepherd Spy Club tonight, as I have found a packet of mince in the freezer. The bathroom has been S&S'd; WMx1 of 2 is whirling in the hopes that the showers will pass; I've made a start on the video script; and I've edited some children out of photos for use on social media, in line with safeguarding rules.
DH has just come back from seeing the dressings nurse at surgery for about the 10th time and is being referred to the ulcers clinic at the horse piddle. He has kindly made me a mug of coffee, so I'll go and fetch it and then get on with the script.8 -
Morning lovelies,
Yesterday was an odd kind of day, I did some of the lounge in the morning before 'attending' an online funeral (is attending even the right word?) Not Covid related, the big CBo Jo then announced the support bubbles for singles/single parents and I near about jumped for joy, 11 weeks with no support or respite (for ds special needs) has seriously stretched me to my limit.
Thanks for the suggestions of treats for the kids, I will look into doing some of them
Today I am going to concentrate on washing as I haven't done any in 9 days, been waiting for a dry day to peg out but I can't wait any longer so TD it isdd will do her own room and I will whip round ds room.
Well wished and positive vibes all round x9 -
Kitchen tidied
Lounge ok
WM done and now to go into TD
Online shop done, OH will pick it up on his way home
Just spent 20 minutes fiddling in electrics box as power had tripped, back on and seems ok now, keeping my fingers crossed. Oh the joys of an old house.9 -
Iona.. I put 3 balls in (2 pink and a blue)... then took a deep breath and took 2 out.. see, I AM trying.. I do however have a small box up for grabs if anyone wants to knit NICU bits
Natty.. the cough is vile.. OH has been coughing for 4 weeks and I'm nearly up to 2 weeks.. my ribs and chest and throat hurt from coughing alone. Neither of us have felt too bad but I am guessing OH especially is a fair bit younger than Dave and neither of us have other health concerns which would make this riskier. Twinkle and Squeak are both now coughing.. I hate coughs, anything else I can cope with but coughs are horrible. Weirdly none of us are coughing very much overnight but it is awful during the day.
SENCO reported for incompetence.. and a complaint sent in to the governors and the head.. I CC'd in the LA disability team too.. I am FURIOUS ... idiot had allegedly sent the ASD referral in April after I threw a wobbly.. I was called today by the triage team and she hasn't sent in the 3 most important parts of the paperwork... WHY!? This is her job.. it isn't like ASD's are rare things to deal with .. if I was SENCO I would know the protocol in great detail and probably implemented improvements to the service.. I certainly would not be fluffing children over and not doing my job! Useless lazy mare!!
I got a decentish cheque from the solar panels this morning so that will pay a couple of this month bills... OH may be back at work next month and given they are understaffed he might have decent pay come August!
Printed off a pile of maths for the girls to do.. so they are torturing me with their idleness.. They would never have a playtime again if they behaved like this at school!
Finished Miss Squizzs cardigan so now I can start on Twinkles 'rainbowy one' later today.. I need the rainbow yarn but it is in DS1's room..
All in all a non-productive day again..

Natty so pleased Dave is on the mend.
Pigpen hope you and your family improve soon. Good news on the solar panel money; ours was one of our highest too.
It's frightening how fast the days and weeks pass. I signed up for another online course over a week ago and have done the first 2 units of week 1: I should be nearing the end of week 2...........
Went for a run this morning. I have been going every 3rd day but am trying to make it every other day in a vain hope of losing some flab. Hopefully the new bike will fill in the alternate days with more miles.
One load washing done, hung out and dried in a couple of hours; no rain but very humid which then turned sunny. Still desperate for rain though.
Major pruning/shredding session of lilac and a couple of other shrubs. Mr N rather taken aback when pruning one shrub which is against a trellis (the one forming an arbour around the bath); there is a nest box on the trellis and as he got close, lots of bees flew out and one stung him. I donned a head net (I've used it for holidays involving mosquitoes!) and took a couple of shots on my phone; it seems that a nest is being built. We're quite impressed and will check its progress - from a distance. Apparently they are Tree Bumblebees and often nest in bird boxes.
Kale and broccoli un-nibbled thanks to yesterday's netting.
Zoom meeting with friends; a first for them so it was pretty much like a lesson.
Still keeping up with discussion on professional forum about SpLD assessment on-line. Luckily my manager is not keen to get it going, as I'm not in favour of it myself. She still hopes we will resume assessments face to face in October.
Large pile of washing up done. Kitchen flicked round half-heartedly. Forgot all about de-webbing as I've spent more time outside than in.............tomorrow is another day and doing my rain dance.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Miss Squizz cardy!!
I was all pleased I had used 7 balls of this nettle yarn... now I found 9 MORE... 9.... Life hates me..
