    Feeling the stress here too....

Our valuation took place last Friday. Then we had an email from solicitor with a copy of an email from sellers solicitor saying the seller is now stating the gifted deposit is now a loan and he wants a charge on the property. 100k!!! The seller is my father in law. Vida will not agree to this so unless FIL changes his mind we cannot buy the house and we are stuck living in a cold caravan with our children 😭😭
Oh no! I really hope you get this all sorted out and very soon.

Thank you. I think we have sorted it. Slight miss communication somewhere. My father in law didn't request a charge on the property, he just wants something in writing to say he will get the 100k back if we sell up in the future. His solicitor then took that as he wanted a charge on the property and rang our solicitor!!! FIL is ringing his solicitor today to confirm he does not want a charge. So hopefully we are fine to carry on with the mortgage process.

Have you had any luck with the employers reference?

They filled it in today to the best of their ability that they could manage so hopefully we are getting somewhere. Fingers crossed!
Aw im glad that it was just a miscommunication and hopefully you will get things sorted very soon.

  • @mariesch1 oh that's good news then. Fingers crossed.

Thanks, me too!! Our broker has just emailed to say they are awaiting confirmation of the valuation report. Then the case will be passed for final offer checks 🤞 hoping that's not the 21 working days bit on Vidas website though!!

So they're obviously dealing with yours right now then. Have you been through underwriting, I can't remember?

I said to my husband yesterday that they may want most recent payslip and bank statement or something as we sent in july/august/sept I think.

Our valuation was done at the beginning of the month and it has been with the underwriters since. Yes we had the same payslips in as you they have asked for Octobers today.

You've been through initial underwriting though haven't you? You're surely not far off from getting an offer now!!

I may send our updated ones over to the broker ready, saves the lender asking then doesn't it

Oh yes we had the initial underwriting done and we have even had the Solicitor and the estate agent send through letters as the seller was threatening to pull out. Hopefully this updated wage slip will be ok.
Good idea takes you one step in from doesn't it.
