We applied with Vida on the 7th Sept already had in principle, they came back friday asking 14 questions, I'm so stressed out we are going to lose our dream house. Is anyone in a temp contract I have for 1 year working for the council but paid through Hayes which is an agency but when I read their criteria they dont accept but my broker has been trying to pass as fixed term. I keep thinking surely they would of rejected it by now, just so drawn out want to know one way or another so If not can see if any other options for us.
Do you have a contract of employment with the Council? Or have you been working for them through an agency for a year?
  • Hang in there everyone, we got our offer today!

    25th August - Application submitted

2nd September - Questions from Vida about queries on bank statements

7th September - Query from Vida on a forwarding address on my credit file. No idea what this was and never found out?

9th September - passed to underwriter

14th September - Another request for information from Vida. Further proof of address, proof an old DMP was paid in full and a question about Loan payment holiday

16th September - Valuation done at my request before underwriting had finished as I wanted to speed the process up

    30th September - MORTGAGE OFFERED!!!

  • argh they are annoying - they are asking for my husbands work to fill in a furlough form even though he wasn't furloughed like what?

  • Ours is in a 3 day queue to go to the underwriter following the HTB ATP debacle. (12 hours on the phone, 4 amendments to the form). This is the only question the underwriter asked initially - I’m sure there are more coming but it’s very tough to work out what they would be! What is the furlough form?

    Also - congratulations @LisaMarie 💐
  • Also do you know how they do valuations, are they virtual for a new build? And how did you get them to speed up valuation, did your MB request it? We are on a tight timeline too, although I’m sure everyone is 😁

Yes, I asked my MB to request the valuation early. It was a risk as if they had declined us at underwriting stage then we would have lost the £400 valuation fee. The valuation was a physical one but not a new build. In fairness the valuation was done 3 days after i requested it and they actually rang the estate agents the same day to book it in.

  • Congratulations @lismarie x

Our application was submitted last Thursday. We had some questions yesterday (Tuesday) regarding some transactions on our bank statement and they wanted a copy of tax credits letter!

Unfortunately my contract is with Hayes, a years assignment but my boss at the council has sent an email with my extra documents to confirm they need me and that there will be permanent positions come December which he feels I will be successful in getting one. I have never been out of work and classed as essential worker, I have no confidence we will get accepted at the moment. I chased my broker today need to know, but seems so drawn out, havnt had survey done said I wanted it done if approved.

I instructed a solicitor as soon as we had the offer accepted on the house. Everything is done from the legal side, surveys, searches, enquiries etc. We were only waiting on the mortgage offer. So hopefully we'll be completing in a couple of weeks!
