Well the shed in my property leaks like a sieve..................... so man is pricing a new roof, I have covered it in a tarp, but that has had no effect what so ever for some reason, all you need is shower gel and a towel to save on mains water!! OH and I will investigate tomorrow further.Workmen had an argument which resulted in one of them walking off site, I told the 'boss' I did not expect such language in my house, next time go outside or I would be chucking them all off site.Dinner is done at the rental.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Hi all
Work been manic, feel like I am sliding back into the old ways of having way too much to do, and feeling stressed and anxious and out of my depth most of the time. I am not even sure I really enjoy what I do any more, but the money is good and right now we need it. I probably shouldnt complain because my job is very secure too, and I am lucky in that sense, just feeling a bit weary tonight.
Anyway WFH means the house is fairly clean and tidy and the laundry is up to date. Think DH is working tomorrow, I will potter. Glass of gin and some telly calls.9 -
Hugs to YL and anyone else who needs / wants one xx
My goodies have arrived. The Beast is now in its cage and I've turned off fingerprint recognition and activated smartlock. Oh the joy of a book full of instructions. I must remember to turn off fb notification noise - we'll find out in the morning if that is what is alerting at sparrow fart o'clock
I'll sort out my CDs and put them in the new holder tomorrow, and tea towels will be hung on the new hanger. That'll be two more steps to a tidy kitchen. woot woot.
Have a good weekend.

Good evening!
I have had a 'meh' day - not much flying done. I kept watching the weather that threatened rain, so I put off stuff, but then the rain didn't deliver so I felt like it was a wasted day. However, the small shed has been emptied and refilled with bikes and ladders. DH also cut the grass. And I made jam! I still have some strawberries left, and probably more to pick tomorrow hopefully. I am just waiting on raspberries now!
We had a family quiz on zoom this evening, which was fun.
Natty I hope you have had a restful day, and the Dave is improving.
YL hugs to you
Round look up how to put 'do not disturb' on your phone. I don't get any notifications after 10pm and before 7am. It's a life saver!
7 -
Round.. I don't have sound on my phone.. vibrate is on but no sounds.. pees me right off when it rings. Plus the do not disturb is a bad idea when I have people ringing at all hours.. 1.. 3.. 5.. 6 am... either for hospital or for letting in.. I don't have fingerprint recog on mine and won't have contactless payments on it.. I don't see how it can possibly be safe!!
if you go on the 'clock' face on the menu there is an alarm option and you can see what alarms are set and turn them off. I turn everything off.. no sound, no fingerprint, no location, no voicemail, no notifications (on an iphone they are easy to turn off.. settings and scroll down to installed apps, listed alphabetically.. pic the one you want and turn everything off.) I'm pretty sure other phones are fairly similar.. it is all very easy.. even the mil is getting there! It is like anything new, it takes time to learn.. don't be hard on yourself.. take your time.. and if the alarm goes off in the morning look at what it says.. it makes it easier to find when you know what it is about.
All those parents with home learning children.. is it just me that with 4 of them being sent stuff over 900 different online apps/sites and zoom chats and google classroom and music and texts and emails and everything else.. is it just me getting utterly confused and forgetting stuff?? I am getting up to 8 texts a day and I spent 4.5 HOURS sorting scool !!!!!! yesterday... I can't even be bothered to make them look at school work because it is peeing me right off... I am sick of being nagged... I value the work and effort the staff are putting in but for the love of chickens.. leave me alone!!! It is driving me mad! There are parents making their children wear school clothes at home and spend hours doing school stuff.. they aren't even doing that at school!!
Mine have learned to strip wallpaper, gloss, use an electric sander and a hot air gun to strip paint.. Twinkle has perfected use of the Xbox controller and they have all learned just how far I will be pushed before my cool becomes uncool and the rage of a thousands murdered pirates is unleashed.. which results in a lot of tidying.. Make their own lunch.. they asked if they could.. so I supervised and they can.. they only have toast or sandwiches and no one had been badly injured by a butter knife yet! lol.. We have had a few jam spillages which is probably worse!
Twinkle is 4 tomorrow!! I can't even believe how fast it has gone!! Today is the last day I will ever have a 3 year old.. I love 3 year olds.. they are my favourite!
4 ebay sales ready to post.. £94 in my bank today.. that had covered ALL June birthdays and Fathers day and made a start on Julys..
some more sleeve knitted.. I am hating this cardigan.
More stuff to list on ebay tomorrow.. see if I can hit the £100 marks before the weekend is out.

Happy birthday Twinkle xx
I have The Beast on vibrate, no sound, after it woke me up the first morning. The vibrate woke me up yesterday - no alarms are on, I think it must be fb notifications, and with the help of my book they will be turned off. It didn't wake me up this morning though - either the early bird facebooker sleeps in on a weekend, or The Beast's new cage stifled the vibration. Do not disturb sounds great but isn't practical when Dad has been told to ring me day or night if he needs help. I think he would probably phone my brother first, but if DB is at work (he works funny shifts driving trains) he would ring me. Once the pubs are open DS will be the most likely culprit caller to ring after hours.
I put up my new tea towel holder before I went to bed - couldn't wait. Luckily it just hangs over a cupboard door and isn't screwed down as when I woke up I had a good idea and I'm going to move it this morning - to a 'better' ie next to the sink, cupboard door.
Breakfast first, then get dressed and I think I'll be sorting out my CDs as I want to put them in my new holder. Such excitement - I know how to spend a rainy Saturday morning.
Take care

Happy Birthday to Twinkle!
Your children are learning some very useful life skills, pigpen.
I hope that Dave and Natty are both beginning to feel better xx
I have sat here for the past hour and a half trying to reinstate the contact groups that I lost when the Blooming Terrible email service was "improved"
The fence man came yesterday and did a good job in the rain and hailMy garden enjoyed the rain, and fortunately the hail didn't last long, but it's cold and wet again this morning. I hope summer isn't already over.
Flying is being kept to a minimum. Downstairs needs to be dusted today, but otherwise the house is tidy; and although I will do WM x1 or 2, I'm not doing bedlinen until I can hang it outside.
(((Hugs)) all round xx8 -
Good morning!
I was awake fairly early (for me), but I'm not up yet! The sun is shining, so I should get up and out before the weather changes. I can hear the wind howling!!
Round 1
Get up & dressed
Breakfast
Gather stuff I want to take to the allotment
Round check your book - I think you can have certain numbers as exceptions. But it's just a suggestion 🙂
Have a good day everyone!7 -
Morning all,
Having a lovely slow start to the day ☀️😊, it's windy but sunny here so we will get out for a walk this morning. I have some laundry to fold, a bit of tidying to do, but I am not going to rush. My book is calling for this afternoon. It's only going to be me and DS here next week and I've managed to sort a food shop for £35 which will sort us for the week so I'm happy with that. Like Piggers, could do with getting some stuff on eBay.Still thinking of Natty and Dave xx
Hugs to all xx8
