Weekly Flylady Thread 1st June 2020

Hi all! I'd really like to join in if I may? I've spent the past couple of years renovating my house and garden (still a couple of bits to be done on both 🙈) so don't have too much clutter but I really need to get into routines for cleaning!!
It's currently a 4 adult household (me, dh, ds and dil) but the kids are in the process of buying a house and moving on - dil is preggers so we're hoping they complete before my new grandbaby arrives! 😉 All the housework falls to me and dh to do - although I occasionally lose the plot and kick the kids up the backside which results in about 2 hours worth of cleaning every few months from them! Dh is brilliant at pitching in thankfully but I have higher standards 😂
Anyway, that's a bit about me (probably too much info!), now I need to ask some questions...as this is a weekly thread, does the list goes up on a Monday? If so, is it the full weeks list or is it added to throughout the week? If it's added to, does anyone know how to get back to page 1 on a phone without having to go back page by page? I'm a bit of a luddite so struggle with tech! 😂
Dizzy- I'm so sorry about Dexter! 😔 I'm sure he had a lovely time with you though and that you have a multitude of happy memories 😁
Natty - I hope all is okay with Dave and that you're taking care of yourself.

Welcome squirelgirl
Sometime tomorrow evening I will post a list for the new thread - we have a new one every week and next week it's my turn to be in charge. The 1st post is added to through the week, usually in the evening, for the next day.
can't help you with the phone but hopefully someone else will advise. (Do you not see the page numbers at the bottom of the thread?)

Thanks Valli 😊
I get a couple of page numbers and double arrows - on the old format I could hit the double arrows and get to page 1 but now they take me back 1 page at a time 🙈 I'll have a mooch on the help bits and see if it tells me anything 😉8 -
Just tried on my phone, it looks like you should be able to click the 3 dots to select the page but it doesn't work. My only workaround is to click the url in the address bar the last bit says p17 change it to p1 then go, not ideal though.

welcome Squirrelgirl.
Thanks everyone for advice on the R2D2 bird....I have definitely seen starlings in the garden recently, as they taunt DFF1 through the window while she just chirrups back threats at them through the glass.
Reporting back in with the Family Skint effort., Very proud, no one has left me in the lurch.... Omelette Day continues Friday part 2 and Saturday......still flying off-piste.
Painkiller cocktail allowed 4 hours spent working at the shipping and another 2 hours today in my garage playing Gibble Tetris with young Skints doing fetch and carry.
1 bin liner of "rag bag" filled for the charity shop
1 carrier bag on charity shop donations
1 bin liner of old duvet covers and 2 bin liners of old duvets to make dog beds for houndy charity
1 bag of old curtains to be sent off for medicinal syringe drivers
2 boxes of broken rigid plastics
1 bin liner of regular recycling
1 bin liner of rubbish
Numerous batch cooking storage containers married up with their lids
Car maintenance bits found and stored in garage, topped up washy wiper fluid and oil. Donated black car "lipstick" for minor chip repairs, as it's wrong colour for my new car.
Small box of electrical bits brought back for testing
Old school books from young Skints thinned out a bit for sentimental box
1 carrier bag of secure destruction.
Camping bits for young Skints collected together in one place
General Tetris in storage unit so I have some standing space out of the rain for my next visit.
WUDAPA
WM X 2
Cats toilets cleaned
Glass taken to bottle bank
Bins emptied and having a Zofl0ra bath
Stray arts and crafts stuff herded together
Carpet cleaning liquids brought back ready to get some pressed assistance to wash down stairs carpets.
No pain no gain...... I've gained some space, but want to get storage unit gone once Corona is over, so I may have to be more ruthless still, but it's a Monday to Friday job, so tomorrow will be working in the garage .
I promise Natty and Valli I will get back on Listy from Monday..😁

Welcome squirrelgirl.
Summary of last 2 days, or what I can remember of it!:
- managed to try out new-to-me bike yesterday between showers. A definite improvement.
- box of gubbins for internet phone arrived, less than 24hrs after ordering which confused me as the info said 5-7 days. Still, between us we managed to plug it in and test it, thus baffling SIL as it displayed the new temporary number so she nearly told us to ****** off thinking it was someone selling something. Our existing handset worked; people had told us we may have to buy a different one, so that's good. Hopefully they will be quick transferring our old number. Have unplugged new one pending that, otherwise we will have to let too many people know. Will need some rearranging as the new router and gubbins is in the lounge; our current router is upstairs in my study and the phone is in the hall.
- Waging severe war on slugs. I had only commented during the week that our baby spinach were the size of the ones you buy in mixed leaf salad, so we could start picking, when MUNCH CHOMP. So against my principles I have deployed the slug pellets, consoling myself that our sad absence of frogs this year may be why we're getting so much chomping, and if there aren't any frogs I can't poison them with pellets.
- Finished and sent off tax return, yippee.
- Went for a run this morning before the rain started. Thank goodness we had a real heavy downpour several times, including hail.
- I cleaned the lounge diner while Mr N did a far better job of the bedroom; I dusted round things, he actually pulled the bed away from the wall, changed bedding etc. He's a much better flyer than me.
- He also wins the prize for better soda bread than my first effort although to be fair, when I made it we only had strong flour left; it works much better with normal wholewheat. Touch wood that as it is 'posh' flour it won't have many preservatives as I haven't had any unpleasant reactions to it.
OK my memory can't recall anything else of note which could constitute actual cleaning, but lots of admin stuff like completing Mr T order for tomorrow, booking another slot (it's getting easier, no more sitting up till midnight), ordering bird food, of course various garden and greenhouse tending.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8
