Hi Hypno - hope you've had a good day and a good Christmas.
We've had no end of trouble with the warning lights on our Saab (shares parts with some Vauxhalls I believe) and the problems have usually been related to engine sensors either being wrong or broken. Particularly annoying when it decides to go into 'limp home' mode on the motorway.
Anyways - I'll try and catch up with your diary this afternoon

Hi chaps and chapesses! Clients all done and dusted, all but one paid cash, so I can easily move money around and see if I can pay off another scrap of debt this evening :j
Also, I have to say a big big thank you to the DFW'er who sent me a Christmas present today - it arrived this afternoon, so awaited me when I got in from seeing clients. I am pretty sure I know who it is who sent it to me (thank you Royal Mail for putting postcodes on the stamps) but I won't say so on here in case I am wrong and make a fool of myself. But thank you thank you thank you - it was a lovely surprise and I get to have it all to myself
OH at work this evening, then I'm working in the bar tomorrow, so I have an opportunity to have a bit of a lazy evening :T

Extra bit off the debt paid and signature duly updated - almost 10% towards the total of 20k paid off by Christmas :j
I am fairly sure that this is short lived though, as the car will need to be fixed and paid for, and there will be a significant amount of petrol used to get the kids to france next weekend, which may end up going on the credit card, but hopefully with a bit more extra effort, we can keep this to a minimum!
I have been to Tesco today and got some fairly cheap bits for the freezer, so hopefully won't need to buy much more than bread, milk and fresh fruit for the next few days. I spent a total of £22 so not too bad at all, and we certainly won't go hungrySuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Don't forget petrol is cheaper in France - so don't have too full a tank when you get off the ferry, and go for a fill-up."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Yes but I need to keep the momentum going! That is going to be the difficult bit!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Glad you were mostly paid in cash. Well done. Fingers crossed for the car. Wondering what your pressy was, cos I am nosey!!! I love surprises, as long as they are nice ones. Had a surprise visit from the Social Worker, they are not agreeing for twin 2 and baby to go to fathers family overnight for new year. I am about to get the flack from both sides now.!! Also means that I cannot go out to a party I had been invited to!! Just not going to well. Missed out on Christmas eve party and now New Years.!! Didnt get much of my finances sorted in the end as kids hogged the computer. Just got it back. So my turn to see what I can find out.
Someone suggested I may be able to hire a car via my insurance? What about you had that been a possibility? When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
We did ask about a courtesy car, but no luck. Never mind - we will get sorted somehow!
Can Social Services provide you with a "sitter" so that you can still go out? You must be allowed some respite, surely. More importantly, is there any way you can get a bigger place to live - you cannot go on like you are - it will drive you crazy! I really do feel for you, and wish I could come and take over for a day or so to give you a bit of free time.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Courtesy car would have been a good thing. Oh well, like you we will survive. I will ask Social how they go about giving me some rsepite care soon. They have arranged for the girls to go to a mother and baby group for about 3 hours a day. Will give me time to do the housework and a few other bits I suppose, but not enough if I want to go into town and back again.!! Will keep banging on to the council when they re open on the 2nd of January. You are right I think that I am going crazy already!
I appreciate the good wishes, the people here on this site have given me the bit of sanity that I needed.
I just wish that I was not in the position of having no emergencyfunds to pay for a car! Your strength is helping me considerably. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
