Are you still putting your keys in the same place El? As for spending £50 less and earning £100 more.......that calls for another amaretto IMHO.....just to get the financial brain cells functioning correctly ;)

 Sorry was away for a few minutes just getting Joel to sleep. I have asked the girls to sort out their money, have helped them fill in some of the forms, unfortunately twin 1 didnt ask for her tax credits until recently so she has lost over 6 weeks worth of funds. Her money is going into her bank acccount and I dont know how much she is getting. I got £30 off of her yesterday towards the bills, as I buy most of the nappies etc.
I have arranged for twin2's money to be paid into my new coop account so I can monitor what she will get. So far her child benefit has arrived. 27/th month. and will now be paid every monday. Thats £18.10 a week. So thats what I get for my son, so twin 1 must be getting the same.
I did work out howmuch my bills etc were costing me, I will post it in a minute when I find it. I did think that now that I am not at work that we will all be getting roughly the same money, as all three of us are technically all single mums, so I thought that they should be giving me around £60 a week each. Seems a lot, Will show you in min the breakdowns. You can let me know if you think that I am asking too much. (Not that I have got it yet)

We got forms from the learning disability team today to assess Twin 2 but the papers for twin 1 have not arrived. I used to get DLA for them before they were 18 but in the last 14 months we have not had any.
I think I need a solicitor. So after the new year that will have to be my mission.
The good news is the boyfriend has sort of come back to me, and today when I was low, he said that I must look at it like a job. that I am a Carer now, and that if I could organise the office, the shop etc, then I should look at the homelife in that way. It sort of made sense.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

DLA doesn't stop when they reach 18, but maybe a new application needs to be made by them/with them to get it reinstatedd. Also, if they are receiving child benefit, they should be buying nappies etc themselves. It may sound harsh, but it is not as though you are flush with funds, and you have given over your home to them, and are having to sleep in the lounge, so you should not be made to suffer financially too. £60 a week each sounds fine to me - once they get everything sorted financially, I am sure they will be given this much. My sister seems to get a HUGE amount in DLA and her disability is not what I would call high maintenance (although I do accept she has a disability, so not trying to minimise it in any way, just in case she is reading!!). Also if you are a carer, are there carer's allowances available for you to claim?

Sorry, don't know much about benefits, only know that my sister pays for her holidays with her DLA, and she seems to do ok out of it!!

Fab news - isn't it amazing what a difference the little stuff makes. Like debt busting - baby steps! I am glad the book has been of help.
