I took it to one local one, who couldn't tell what it was either, and the other local garage that we have used in the past are on holiday until 6th Jan. Problem is that we need it to take the kids to France on 5th Jan, so in a bit of a hurry, and everyone is on hols!!

Even the main dealer couldn't tell what was wrong with it from the computer readout, so I can't give you any clues!!

    Great, hey!!

I have done three mystery shop things so far today - £30 worth, so getting there. Am aiming for another couple completed before visitors arrive, then will get on with other work later this afternoon/evening.

The children have taken all their saved money from the sealed tin to the post office and have come away with a nice amount of euros and swiss francs ready for their trip. The combination of saving in the tin and asking for euros for Christmas from people has provided sufficient and fairly generous IMHO spending money for their trip. :T

Hi,:D I meant whats going wrong with the car why have you taken it to the garage? What are the symptons? does it not start? stall? etc... if you get me.

Glad the dodgy tonic had no long lasting effects, Snaggles!

Today we have had visits from most of my nieces and nephews and it has been quite nice to catch up with everyone. All the children were very well behaved so very little stress :D

I managed to get a bit of work done today, still plenty to do, but not going to do any more today - tomorrow is early enough.

Clicks all done, no surveys available so pretty much up to date with odds and ends.

It is an automatic car, and it is not automatic at the moment - only works if you use the gears manually. Something wrong with the traction control too.

OH is on a vauxhall users forum right now, but has checked out everything they say, fuses etc but no luck.

My girls went out to Bingo tonight, and left me holding the babies. phew I forgot how hard it is when 2 babies are crying. It was 3 hours of rocking and singing, and nappy changing etc etc etc. Memories of years gone by. Ex husband brought back my son, (been with them since Friday), and had a hold of his grandchildren. Got oil all over their clothes! He is a mecanic and had come from work. So had to change them as well. Lots of presents for the babies though. Mums back now, babies handed over. Gosh my arms ache!!.
Still no news of my car either.

Ah. I was hoping me or OH could give you some advice. But automatic gearbox's = we dont have a clue.Sorry.Your OH is wise going onto vauxhall forum though car forums are so helpful with common problems;) .I hope you get it sorted quick as you probably already know gearboxes are normally pricey when they go wrong. Hopefully your cars problem is a simple fix though.Thats a bit poo it giving out a diaognostic code they've never seen before though. Them computers normally give a instant result of whats wrong.

Last post on Ballet Shoes I promise.... I've checked the book and can confirm the rushed ending is true to the original: Gum comes back and the girls' fates are decided all on the second-last page.

Also.... the romance is an addition... Mr Simpson is happily married throughout the book. Typhoid outbreak balderdash!

OK back to you Hypno. Well done for coping with the influx of visitors without stress. I've done the opposite today - gone visiting - and come home with a bootful of other people's Christmas leftovers. Bargain!

I feel left out as I didn't watch ballet shoes-but I do remember reading it.
Had a very none MSE day today-met a friend over on one of her infrequent visits home to London and somehow ended up on Tottenham Court Road and came home with........a laptop !! Oooops but it IS lovely. I've wanted one for ages.
No more spending for me-there was money in the budget for it (or will be when my wages from the grotto are all in) but I still feel a bit naughty even though I got a great deal on it.
On the positive front new job starts on the 7th so will be adding to the coffers and NOT spending any more. Feel free to slap me if I do !!
