I was up quite early this morning, it must be my guilty conscience, so I decided to see if my information is still on the myparkingcharge site and it is, however when I chose 'enter liable party details' it comes back with "Our records indicate that this charge may be settled/closed. However, if you have received communication from a Debt Recovery company
you should contact them directly to settle or discuss this charge. Relevant contact details and reference number(s) will be on the communication you received ."
It is still allowing me to make a payment though, so Im not sure if theyve taken the hint and dropped it or not.

They have passed the alleged debt to a DCA for collection.   Have you received a letter from a DCA?  If so have they added an unlawfuk amount?  Have you read the newbies/stickies wrt dealing with DCAs?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

There were masses of debt collector letters two years ago, they were all ignored despite 'offering' me various discounts on the charge, Ive had nothing since the letter before claim that vcs sent.

    FHP have said "Hi ellaro9,

Thank you for your email and supporting information. What was the date of the incident please?

Please allow me sufficient time to investigate matters and I will then respond to you.

     Regards

Make sure they have a copy of the PCN so they have the reference & enough details to cancel it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Hi
I heard nothing after sending Coupon-mads letter but have recently moved house, thought it would be wise to inform them so they dont get a default on me.
It must have been picked up by someone and theyve now sent me a claim form so its just got real,
My head is spinning a little now as its come at a bad time, I go into hospital next week for surgery so can do without this.
Im quite serious about issuing a counter claim so Im all ears if someone can advise me what to do next.,....

For what?  If you decide to counterclaim, you need to do so with your defence and pay the appropriate court filing fee at that time, amount depending on the quantum. You can't do it after the defence has been submitted (well, not without a whacking fee to do so!).

For breach of the equality act, am I not able to do that?
I was under the impression that I could counter claim for this...
Ive just emailed FHP as I heard no more from them, waiting for a reply.

More of an opportunity to do so than if you were going after them for the general 'harassment' every motorist goes through.

You commented how pro-active I was previously, feel like Ive just landed on my head and dont know what to do now.
Im going to follow what Ralph-y posted and acknowlege the claim, I understand that gives me 28 days to get the defence done, dont know anything about how to counter claim so welcome any advice.
