I also recently joined Grass Roots in the hope that they would be better, but I gave up when I had to fill out a "timetable" of when I could shop. I thought it was self assignment depending on what was available?
It'll be so they can offer you assignments depending on when you are available.
For example, I'll be working less hours when I return to work in January, so I'll untick evenings. That way they won't waste their time offering me jobs that have to be done on an evening as they know I'll not accept them! Here I go again on my own....0 -
Ok, I joined Retail Eyes in April/May, have only done one assignment and earned a measly £12. They never have to seem many available assignments and I want to quit. The payout limit is £50, so if I quit now will they give me the money they owe me, or will I just end up losing it? Would you advise me to keep going until I hit the £50 quid mark, or try and see if I can negotiate with them?

Also briefly joined GAPbuster Worldwide but I thought they were rubbish so unsubscribed.
Like Princess Leia, I get paid monthly by RE no matter how much I've earned. Luckily for me I've done a few pub ones for them this month as well as some phone calls so a nice little sum due to me
With Grass Roots I've just filled out their timetable saying I am available all day, every day! Then when the assignments appear on the site I can pick & choose if I do them or not. You have to be lucky and be on the site the exact time the jobs are released though as they go sooooooo quickly :rotfl:
And I think Gapbuster are pretty good, I know they aren't the greatest payers, but they are a fab company to get you into MS-ing and once you've been with them for longer you can do other shops such as Ronalds burgers and coffee shops.
If you want to make a success of MSing, you have to be prepared to log on several times a day to get the best jobs, and also have to be prepared to do the not-so-glamorus ones in order to be eligible to do the better paid, more interesting ones at a later stage. We’ve had to remove your signature. Has anyone ever been accused of making a fraudulant visit by a company.
I received an email yesterday-was very upset when I read it-says they take fraudulant visits seriously and I was on probation and barred from that client in the future. It all stems from the receipt I sent in being in a different name-which i told them I'd have to use for various reasons. I didn't think anything of it until I got that email.
When I phoned the person they said I should have known better and it was fraud. I'm at a loss as to what to do-Ive rang the company and spoken to someone else and they said they'd find out and call me back but I'm so upset-I did the job at very short notive-told them what I was doing(sadly no record of emails) so why have I commited fraud? what a terifying word that is.
Any thoughts or advice greatfully appreciated.
update=just had a call from the company with full apology for the way ive been treated and notice to disregard the phone call and the email about fraud.:A NI FEIDIR ACH LE DIA BREITHIUNAS A DHEANAMH ORM0 -
Was it a bank job? If so, giving a false name is very serious and can involve the police in some instances - this happened to a MSer on here a few months back so it can happen....
What job was it?0 -

I don't wish to take this thread off topic into the realms of legal stuff but I always understood that legally, you could call yourself anything you wanted as long as it was not with the intention of defrauding somebody.
I will have to dig into that a bit more sometime, but it I will certainly bear this in mind.0 -
I don't think giving a false name in itself is illegal (if you have no intention of defrauding that is), but if the staff at a bank suspect you are trying to commit fraud then they can report you on a suspicion - this could (and no doubt will) get the police involved....
Over-zealous behaviour is not uncommon in banks as regards money laundering issues, so just be careful generally!
My advice would be to NEVER give a false name in a bank, even if the MS company's staff tell you to - they most probably won't know what the repercussions are (and won't care!).0 -
