    Hello!

Wondered why this thread was so quiet - apparently it isn't, just I'm not getting any updates!

Yes, technically you need to declare all income. I don't know about the situation with pigsback etc; it's an interesting one. I suppose you should declare these as you're clicking and earning, therefore it would be known as earned income and taxable....

My advice would be to declare any money you get (as in actual funds into your bank/cash) through your MS business. There must have been some research somewhere on the likes of pigsback, rpoints etc so I'll leave that well alone!

For anyone who's waiting for a response for me otherwise, I'll be replying to PMs etc later today. I have been very busy these last 2 days and am getting myself back together today hopefully!! :D

princess leia - don't give up on the accounting system just yet; I'll have a stab later and let you know some step - by - step instructions!
  • What's the best way to go about the scenario of buying a new kitchen? Should I take along the measurements of my own kitchen? - I'm a bit nervous about this one!!

Gosh, this brings back memories! It's a VERY long time since I've done one of these.

AFAIK I measured my own kitchen (you don't have to be precise, assuming that this isn't the sort of MS where someone comes round to your house). Draw an approximate plan and have some ideas of what you'd like your dream kitchen to look like.

There are 2 drawbacks to this sort of MS - 1. It can take ages, and 2. You tend to end up longing for a new kitchen! :rotfl:

My own theory is that it is good for the soul to do as many different sorts of MS as possible. I've been working for 3 or 4 years now, and still take on new forms of MS when they are available - mostly because I'm a nosy cow and like to know what's going on in the world! (This is a useful attribute for a MS, I'm convinced of it!!!)

The latest novelty was going to a beauty salon! No, not one at a gym (been there, done that), a real beauty salon. (I asked if they had any liposuction or face lifts they needed MS, but sadly the answer was no. The treatment I had was pretty basic.......:p

I think you're right, - I have a suspicion this is going to take longer than I'd like, but I suppose it's all experience!! My kitchen has started appearing with monotonous regularity on those shows - just before they rip it out - so I'm halfway there!!!

If this is the one for GFK at a well known company with a three letter name, we did one yesterday.

We didn't have to take measurements or anything, we just went in pretending we were at the stage of considering a new kitchen and wanted to explore the possibilities. That left the way open for the sales consultant to lead the way. It went OK and was not too difficult.

Do remember to give your contact details if asked (as per instructions) they will delete them from the system when the job is finished apparently. My immediate reaction to somebody asking for my details is to refuse, just remembered in time.

Thanks Timmne, I had that problem and tried it 3 times and then gave up!! So I will ive it another few goes later and let you know what I think when it gets d/l!
    :D

I had this problem. It's because you've unticked the box about them sending you info. I left it ticked after the 4th try and it took me straight through. Sneaky!

  • Hi all,

Not sure if this is mentioned in a separate thread or anything so I might be posting in the wrong place. Apologies if I am. I just wondered how much you can expect to make from this if you have another full time job? Is it worth the hassle what with having to pay tax (would be 22% for me)?

    Cheers in advance.

I work full time and do maybe one or two jobs a week max and don't plan to make a serious (as in time spent on it) career out of it.

The profit I make after deductions for travel etc is about £5 per job but then that doesn't take into account that you get something back for some jobs say gym use or purchases in various shops, the odd pizza or other (fast) food etc.

A bit like jobbingmusician I do cos I'm a bit nosey and would like to be able to feel I am doing my bit to improve levels of service rather than purely to make money. Also it is necessary to realise that what you report has a big potential impact on the people who you shop so oftentimes I find myself taking loads of time to explain exactly what happened if I give less than good evaluations which makes it less in earnings per hour.

I wouldn't advise it if you are just after the money although things do improve if you do more jobs, report well and as you get known by companies and get offered more lucrative work.

Hi, I'm a bit confused - do you mean you've tried to upload it onto the site or fax it? 2 different things.

Note the format the file it has to be in to allow it to upload. I always scan mine as a picture, so that it's in a jpeg and that uploads ok. If you need to go back afterwards and upload it, there should be a link next to the particular job in "My assignments".
