    Morning all,

I've edited my first post to remove my recommendation for Microsoft Accounting Express - on my initial poke around with it I thought it wasn't bad although it's definitely not going to be easy to use for an amateur now I've had a play with it...

SO my recommendation is solely QuickBooks's Simplestart software (link on first post) as it is brill - just played around with it for 30 minutes setting up bits related to my own MSing and it works perfectly. DEFINITELY worth the £39.95 IMO and I will be happy to help anyone set this up if they go for it.

Hi all, I,m a bit worried about using a recording device in a financial intitution without telling them. Anyone know the law on this. I,ve done a bit of a search and can only find data relating to companies recording customer calls. This one is an issue thats close to Martins heart at present.

  • Great info,I have just registered on all of the mystery shopper sites and wait for news of jobs.I doubt I will get any word back from one of them however as the form asked for weight and height details in kg and in metres,I work in stones and pounds or ft and inches.I phoned hubby at work to get him to work it out for me but was too impatient to wait for his call back and went and filled in the form myself working out the height and weight conversions as best I could.I didn,t think I was that far out but hubby nearly died laughing when he later called me back and we compared notes as I have told the mystery shopping company that I am 2.5metres tall and weigh 170kg.Oh well, maths never was my strong point.I might get some jobs for "big and tall" shops though.

    I wouldn't be so disheartened - at least you're in proportion! :D

    Well done for registering BTW

Thanks for the tip about generating an invoice that isn't sent to keep for records. I'll do that and add it to my file.

The employees will be told in advance that they will be audio/video recorded as part of a mystery shopping exercise, but they won't be told when or where.
Here I go again on my own....

Ok, I joined Retail Eyes in April/May, have only done one assignment and earned a measly £12. They never have to seem many available assignments and I want to quit. The payout limit is £50, so if I quit now will they give me the money they owe me, or will I just end up losing it? Would you advise me to keep going until I hit the £50 quid mark, or try and see if I can negotiate with them?

I also recently joined Grass Roots in the hope that they would be better, but I gave up when I had to fill out a "timetable" of when I could shop. I thought it was self assignment depending on what was available?

Also briefly joined GAPbuster Worldwide but I thought they were rubbish so unsubscribed.

How are you down to get paid by RE? I get paid by BACS and they pay any amount thats due so maybe change to this payment method? With regards to GR timetable - just tick what you can do (or all!) and then you are the one to accept jobs so just don't accept the ones you can't do!

It is often harder work to get the assignments rather than do the actual MS ;)

  • In the briefing notes for a shop for GFK it states: -
.....After you have refunded your product you must return the receipt that you are given at refund, to GfK. Please see below for the free post return address......
I don't see any further reference to it though, and I had to upload the receipt, anyone know if that is enough?
