  • Hi! I am going to complete my very first job for RE on the weekend - it's a pub lunch job. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on anything to watch out for? I've printed out everything but if anyone has tips to avoid not getting paid, please let me know! (as £20 is quite a lot of money to outlay!!)

    Hi

Can anyone help, the last time I did a GAP assignment only the first page of the paperwork printed out, and I ended up having to write the remaining 5 pages out. I have got two to do tomorrow, and the same thing has happened again. I have contacted GAP about the problem but not sure if I'll get a reply or not.

I don't want to spend an hour writing the questionnaire out manually.
    Thanks
    sara

Are you using Firefox or Internet Explorer?

The reports are written for IE and I have no problems using them in this, but I have terrible problems opening them on printing them in Firefox.

How are you down to get paid by RE? I get paid by BACS and they pay any amount thats due so maybe change to this payment method? With regards to GR timetable - just tick what you can do (or all!) and then you are the one to accept jobs so just don't accept the ones you can't do!

Ah ok; was down for payment by cheque. I wasn't sure if I could trust them or not (had doubts about them being a legitimate company after the fax I sent failed) but if not one on here has had any problems...then I guess it's ok.

Do any of the MS companies pay travel expenses? I was disappointed that RE dont' - had to get a bus costing £10 to carry out the assignment! Only made £2 profit

The idea is you do your MSing as part of your daily travelling so travel expenses shouldn't be necessary - that's what the MS companies tell you anyway!
  • How do you deal with a situation where you have gone to the same shop 5+ times to ask the same questions about a certain product and its the same sales assistant who must KNOW u r a mystery shopper? Or just thinks you are MAD??!
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!

Very very few of them do (which just takes the mickey in my opinion.)

Their ideas that you do your MSing as part of your daily travelling so travel expenses shouldn't be necessary is certainly very rarely true in my case, so I will rarely do jobs where they don't cover ridiculous tube fares/parking costs.

Sometimes when they ring you up at the last minute wanting you to do jobs, you can negotiate that they do cover your costs.
  • Just had to cancel 3 jobs tomorrow due to illness :( it was sad to see my RE score diminish in front of me like that ;)

Do GAP actually hold it against you? As I had 2 booked with GAP and 3 with RE, I am not too worried about RE as I have done a few assignments with them but I have only ever done 1 GAP so I am quite worried they will just decide to remove me for being ill??
I was looking forward to a day of real and mystery shopping too :D

PL - I've cancelled a couple of GAP ones before and not noticed any difference. I think as long as you don't make a regular thing of it it shouldn't be a problem - hope you feel better soon. :grouphug: (I'm using this in the group hug sense - not what they are actually up to!)

On a different note, anyone had the name your price £5000 bank email from GfK today? I'll not give too many details but anyone know what a reaosonable price would be - I hate these name your price situations.

Now I'm starting to get worried. I logged into RE and changed payment method, and it was accepted, but then it logged me automatically out and I can't get back in! I've tried 4 or 5 times over the day from different computers, but as soon as I click "log in" it just refreshes the home page! Are they going to run away with my money?!
