When you say claim the maximum - is that the maximum for mileage or the maximum for every element of the pay claim?

Up to now I have always asked for the full mileage but only what I have actually spent for the other bit

    The maximum on everything ;)

Having said that, I usually spend over anyway so you may want to test the water yourself on the purchases bit.

Just to say a big thank-you to :AHollypear:A for taking the time to email us all.

Not a problem. That is what makes this site great. We all help each other out. I have had loads of help on here from other posters.

I think I have managed to contact everyone now but if anyone didn't get a reply just PM me again.
And thanks to every one for their kind remarks.
I have made a good friend on here as she lives nearby. She paid someone on ebay for a MSing thing and it was only a list of companies. I know a lot of people like me are struggling a bit financially ( in my case cos I wasn't working for a year and got slap happy with the credit cards) but I think that is shocking.

When can you raise the invoice with OC? When they send you the email saying they confirm the submission of report? Or do they email you to tell you?

Has anyone done any mystery shopping flights? I have been given the opportunity of a long haul flight during a tentative enquiry to a company I have worked for just six months!

I certainly don't want to make any mistakes on a £600 flight, does anyone have any pointers on how to do a successful mystery flight?

I have done flights Paul. Depends on the briefing. Check it carefully and have a look at the questionnaire to see what questions you have to answer.Couple I did were to check the cheapie orange airline were actually checking and charging for excess baggage. Only way I could get my case to come to the 26kgs was to load it with bricks. Then struggled to get ti on the belt and the girl said what did I have in the case ....bricks. I think I went crimson. And as I was flying from Glasgow I panicked in case security thought it was more terrorists.
Am doing one next month to Belfast and they want details like check in procedures, were you accompanied by ground staff to the flight, on board announcements like the scratchcards etc, snacks on board to assess and time waiting for baggage if you have any.

If your unsure maybe best to phone the MS company and ask. Most prefer you do that rather than miss something important.

Mm long haul. I saw 2. One to a lovely Caribbean island and one to Saudi.

    Enjoy it anyway.

Raise it as soon as you get the confirmation email.

Nobody actually thanked you? Sorry, I dont like to be pedantic, but several people DID thank you. For example,

Newmoneysaver said: Thanks auntypog. I'll remember to bring you an apple in next week

TractorGirl (ie me) said: Thanks, I hadn't got that one, have just applied and got a job in their cafe for Monday (which I actually then had to cancel as my boy was ill)

    cranezoe said: lol! thanks. :)

Plus Josie thanked you by clicking the button

When Chas suggested my posting may 'gain you a few thanks!' I took that solely to mean button clicks (as in visible 'brownie points' on my rating). I did indeed get some delightful 'real' thanks which I fully acknowledge. I apologize if anyone who gave me 'real' thanks was offended by my jokey comments to Chas. And you are right, Tractorgirl. Josie did click the button - but I was hoping Chas wouldn't spot that one! (Sorry you didn't get your coffee. Another time, hopefully.)

We were at crossed porpoises - or was that the pub I mystery shopped yesterday?

Not that I'm implying button click thanks aren't highly esteemed in their own right... Can anyone get me a lawyer?

I have only done a short haul flight, so it probably wasn't for the same company. I was a bit anxious to get it right too, but the questionnaire was very similar to other assignments, but split up in parts, covering e.g. the check in experience (I checked in online), the business lounge (they asked me to book business class), the cabin staff and food onboard, as well as the ground experience.

As long as you do your best I am sure it will be fine.

Speaking about this, those of you who have done long haul flights (with the other company), did you already have the necessary visa (e.g. to Saudi Arabia)? When applying for these jobs there was a question regarding what countries you have a visa for, so I guess that they prefer selecting people who already have the necessary travel documents, considering how long it can take to get a visa. They do however mention that they will reimburse the cost for a visa?

I also wonder what would happen if you for instance catch a flu the day before you are due to travel, and have to cancel the flight, will you still be reimbursed or will you have to pay for the ticket yourself?
