Maximising income - Mystery Shopping? Surveys? (Part Three)

An interesting point!
I also wonder whether the MSing companies themselves check this thread & similar ones and find out who the posters are - for example when people on this board say they've just emailed & paste the email in. It would be interesting for the MSing company to see what their shoppers are saying about them!0 -
Many MSC's do read and comment on MS forums. Some of the allocators are very active members on some of the dedicated forums.
I also don't hesitate to tell MSC's when I think fees are too low and I have stopped working for Gap after falling out with them big times. They are messing us about and pay peanuts. By the time I have started the engine of my car I have spent the fee. I'm in this to make money, not to pay money for carrying out their jobs.
This doesn't mean I'm greedy. This means I am running my own business and I have to make a profit to succeed.0 -

With any online activity I always assume I am being watched/read. Call me paranoid, but if I were them I would read here! I tend not to say anything about anyone I wouldn't be comfortable saying to their face anyway. I am known to be blunt though at times...
As for Gap, yes I have to agree the pay is really poor. Even with a short trip into town it is barely worth it for some assignments. However I do prefer the website and allocation style to most others. Also, I do get most work with them. I have only managed 3 assignments for others since mid Febuary.
Like Domestic Goddess, I will be choosier next time around, but at present I am enjoying gaining experience.0 -
Is anyone else having problems with their new reporting system. I have input my results 3 times now and saved it each time, but it flippin' disappears. I'm not impressed!0

Does Gap read this Forum???
They do read this one and they have replies there to some answers asked here before.

When I look at my shopper number and try to imagine their shoppers data base, I can understand why they can't reply to all queries!
I have tested the bit about "they just want the job done" today, I had a phone call to do a burger shop, and I said that at 5pm my little girl is out of nursery and she would have to come with me if they want me to. They said "No" that I don't have to do it anymore! so there you go it is in their contract and they did not want the rules bent.0 -
Are any of you changing mobile phone POS stands in a high street store this week? Allocated through a MS company, which I found bizarre, but hey-ho...it's money.
Just had my delivery of the materials and it's rather big. Anyone have any practical ideas on how to transport the materials from the car park to the store? About 50% of the stores I'm doing have their nearest parking a 5 minute walk away and I'm wondering how I'm going to carry all the things I need to take with me!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

In one sense I think that it would be good to have a rep on these kind of boards to answer any question that we have ie GAP as you would not have to keep emailing them with the same questions over and over till you get a response. On the other hand I think that you should be able to rant some times about the companies that you work for within reason.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot
