TNS also have some male only assignments which they seem to have trouble fulfilling related to looking like a tradesman.

    Peed off with GAP !

Did my first assignment for them in January and got an email back saying that the shop had to be re-assigned due to an 'internal error' but that I would be fully reimbursed for my efforts.

Payment for the above never arrived in my bank account so I emailed them to ask why. Reply came = because it had to be reassigned, I wouldn't get paid. Have now sent them back an email asking why and attaching their original email to me to say that I would be paid.

Anyone had this happen to them before? Any ideas what I should do next?

All replies gratefully received ! xxx

I don't think it's because people don't look like tradesmen. Personally I think it is because they expect the shopper to do like a number of things and the pay is not that much. That's why no one is prepared to do them. I have 2 booked, but I only do them cos they are a stone's throw away from where I work. ** Quick question about Retail-Maxim. Do people get work every month? I had about 6 visits in the first 2 months and they kept bothering me to do another 4, but now I don't get any texts/calls off them. Have I done something wrong? I actually called them last week and this week, and they said, sorry no visits in your area this month. HELP!

I've not got so far as to look at the brief but its the tradesMAN bit that I'm falling down on to start with! ;) Usually the begging mails are asking for male shoppers only for these assignments. I agree though that sometimes the amount you are expected to do on some shops really takes the !!!!!! - one involving copying and furniture springs to mind - not only in terms of the pay but also in terms of looking like a vaguely normal shopper.

Good grief no. I think it's men only as it's timber etc. Not that I am saying women don't work in that sector, cos I am sure they do somewhere. And don't worry about looking like a tradesman. I'm a 25 year old bloke that looks about 18, and I have done a fair few already. Best thing to do I guess is to wait until they get really desperate and then say you will do it, and ask for double mileage or something.

They use the simple Sassie mystery shopping system so you can fill in the form and start applying for shops within minutes (you might have to sign up to their sister company).

Thank you. I've signed up with them. The site looks very like the BARE site - are they related companies?

They use the same software - Sassie. There are many more companies who use this software but most of them are based in Northern America.
