You must be in a busy area where toilet use is a bit more restricted! No such thing is applicable to where I live...

Thanks Wensie. It's not a burger or a pizza shop, it's the other one (i'm sure you can decipher which one from a process of elimination !) I've read the manual and I can't find anywhere that it says I can't take someone with me. DD is very mature and sensible anyway so she just usually stands there while I do all the talking !

The phone one doesn't specify and i've done a couple of phone ones before and i'm sure I was 'sussed' both times (which is why I thought about taking her with me as a bit of a disguise !)

Henmuffin - i've not been paid from Gap either. I did a shop for them on 31st January and it's not come through so I think i'll have to wait until next month for that one ! I'm keeping a close eye on what I do though and if I don't get paid next month then i'll email !

    Happy shopping everyone !

I've never heard of that either and I used to be a manager there! Maybe it's in London or a very busy city

JTB, if you did a shop on the 31st Jan you should definitely have been paid. Have you filled in your bank details on the website? If you have I would keep emailing them via the site until they do finally reply HTH.

Re TNS, do they check your mileage claim?

I've just done a job for them (my first!) and am a bit put out as I walked the mile into town but don't feel I can claim the mileage, even though I could have driven!

I'm not sure if they don't check or if they do but don' mind if you claim up to the allowance. I always claim the max mileage allowed for any job and have never had any queries. I read that advice from someone on here when I started.

I pause before making any tax type comments to you Timmne (especially as i don't know if I'm right or not!) but I kept track of all my mileages for them over the last year and for some the 40p (tax man rate) per mile you could claim was over the allowance and for some it was under and in the end for the tax year it was about £1 out so I thought fairs fair. I presume this is defendable if anyone asks why you over claim on some jobs but effectively underclaim on others?
  • I Have copied the information from GAPS website regarding pay, in order to resolve the confusion. I hope this helps.....

When do I get paid for my evaluations?

You will be paid for your work through a direct fund transfer into your bank account. You can provide your bank account details through a secure page in the My Profile section of the shopper web site.
We process our shopper payments fortnightly - on the 15th and 30th of each month. Here's an example of how our payment works:
    1. If you shop between the 1st-14th of a given month your payment will be processed by the 30th of that month.
    2. If you shop between the 15th-31st of a given month your payment will be processed by the 15th of the following month.
Think I have confused myself now....

I think thats only North American shoppers although I'm not sure why. GAP usually pay once a month around or on 24th for all shops in the whole month before, ie pay Feb 24th for all January shops. But I have spoken to them before over missing payments and they say if it gets rushed at the end of a month payments can get missed so.
  • REDCAR --I'm glad you said that because the 24th cut off is what I thought...until I confused myself by looking on the GAP QA's bit. No wonder I confused myself. That reads to me that there are two pay days in a month!

    Did a couple of Gap jobs today and the job sheet says this ;

"Payment is made on the 24th of the MONTH FOLLOWING THE MONTH in which you completed your assignmnet".
So for todays work I will get paid 24th April 2008. I think...

BTW I have taken my children to a phone job (the independent one which takes ages and now I have done 2, I won't do again!), and all was well. Mind you I haven't been paid yet, but it's not due yet anyway.

I tend to walk a bit two to get free parking but I always use google to caculate the total mileage there and back. I never claim more or less then that. TNS do random checks which verifies everything including when they receive the receipt for the job.
I am so guttered today, had to run to eight locations, two of which had closed down and I dropped 20 pounds! so not a very rewarding day!
