Well i've got my DIY one today, bringing my sister and splitting the check list which is HUGE! Don't think i'll do one of these again especially as i'm supposed to try and keep the reciept after a refund! May just go back in and say i've lost the receipt and hope for the best!

During the first visit I would buy a little extra which I might need for myself (we do a lot of DIY anyway so I would find something useful) and would therefore have a reason to keep the receipt.

Use a debit card and you get a receipt back saying it was refunded, if you don't want to buy anything else.

I have two MS to do this afternoon, one is a phone shop (GR) and the other is a food shop (Gap). Does anyone know whether I'll be able to take my teenage daughter with me? Personally I think it would help disguise the fact that i'm a MS'er but I don't want to go breaking any rules!

It depends on the jobs. I would read the briefs and see if they mention anything. If they say you have to go on your own you will just have to go on your own. If they don't mention anything I would say it's ok to take someone along.

When you say "food shop for Gap" ... if it's a burger place you can't take anyone with you. Another tip on those - go to check the toilets before ordering and eating. Otherwise they might clean them especially for you and from my point of view it's defeating the object.

Contacting GAP? How funny a thought!

No chance - if you need to contact them you have the option of an enquiry on the website and that's it - don't be suprised when (not if!) your enquiry goes unanswered....

Re TNS, do they check your mileage claim?

I've just done a job for them (my first!) and am a bit put out as I walked the mile into town but don't feel I can claim the mileage, even though I could have driven!

Do you not need the receipt first, so you can get the security code to be able to actually get into the toilets?
