It's not just photos or videos . Many advanced programs take a bit of space as well as saved projects .born_again said:
One has to wonder just where & what these, pic's & video's are and have come from.Mickey666 said:Whatever the perceived rights and wrongs here (on all sides), it might be better to focus on the kid's usage of this laptop. If its 128GB storage has been filled with photos and videos within one week, how will swapping it (even if JL agrees) for one with more storage actually help in the long run if the kid doesn't know how to manage things. Even a 1TB MBP for the best part of £3,000 will only last 8 weeks at the current rate. The whole situation is ludicrous.
I take a lot of photos & at the moment a few vid's of planes flying over airport. Mostly Airforce, on my phone. I have a 128 gig storage card for these. Yet despite having had the phone for 9 months still have not got to 50% of the capacity.
One on his ( not long ) YT videos that he had rendered has taken 10gb+ .
I have told him now , that he might consider doing all this on main pc .
I believe , that apple has realised that too and their cheapest newly released MacBook Pro ( 2020 ) comes with 256gb .0 -
If your son was already doing YT videos at 10GB!, he should had known early days that 25^% GB is insufficient for video storage over time. Yet another so called amateur Cecil B DeMille thinks that the mac product is superior, it is not. You are limited to what they think is right for you, unlike the PC, which is infinitely configurable! Think I am wrong, then why do all the graphic card suppliers work to get their products onto the PC platform? It is called choice.jazzthat said:

I back JL on this, they have supplied a computer. next time do research.
I produce videos ad hoc, my bhase PC has a system sata m2 drive of 256GB, with 1 TB of SSD and 2 TB od HD, NAS storage of 8 TB! And I do not have any video file over 3GB, and they are 90+ minute archive sports events!

Trade it in with Apple fo a new one. They will give you money towards what your son wants now.0

It would be nice to know where I stand , if JL would have come back to me with a final yes or no .

You were told where you legally stood within the first couple of pages. I'll repeat, you are not legally entitled to a full refund or replacement so you entirely at the mercy of JL's goodwill.jazzthat said:It would be nice to know where I stand , if JL would have come back to me with a final yes or no .1 -
. I should have added that I had spoken with apple and they told me that word ' personalised ' shouldn't applied to this product as it can be reset to factory settings .
That still leaves opened and used.
You can offer it as trade in with Apple for better one and see what they will give you for it.
They will reset it and sell it as reconditioned.1 -
128GB will be fine. If you need more high speed storage to do video editing it should have 2x Thunderbolt 3 (USB‑C) ports. An external Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) External SSD drive will do the trick. You're looking at £60+ for 256 GB, £85+ 500GB, £130+ 1TB, £300+ 2TB. (Prices rough guide)1
