I'm assuming that they bought you alcohol as a coping strategy....I'm glad he didn't spoil it too much.

I assume so too- his aunt said "I know you've had a hard year" when she gave them me and given she knows I love my new school I think its safe to say she wasn't talking about my job!

Off to the zoo today! Daughter asked whilst we were camping if we could go to the zoo this week and I told her that I would have a look to see if we could afford it; turns out my entertainment budget for the month would have just covered it, BUT got a text from sister in law to say that she'd cover all the tickets as a treat for daughter from her and sent me the money! What lovely in laws I have.Bottom line;

Most things are packed and ready, bags piled in the hall.
We're going to the hobby event via a random and belated 30th birthday treat for my little sister. My dad has organised an 'alpaca experience morning' where we get to feed and pet some alpacas and then take them on a walk! Random! However my sister will love it (and so will my daughter!) My half of the alpaca day is £60 so I budgeted for that at the beginning of the month.
For the weekend ive arranged to share cooking/seating/tables etc with three good friends that I haven't seen in person since 2019. Husband is stressing like mad but once he's there he'll be in constant demand and everyone will want his attention which should give me plenty of time to sit and chat.
I'm also taking some sewing to do and hopefully I can sell it to one of our members once it's done.Bottom line;

Alpaca walking thing was great and enjoyed by everyone. My dad got a naughty alpaca that he struggled to get to walk which added to the amusement. My daughter loved it- now wants an alpaca
The hobby event was OK- loved catching up with friends and at the public again. Husband was then in a crappy mood for most of Monday/Tuesday because I didn't show him enought attention across the weekend- despite spending both evenings sat with him and a few others and him rushing round and doing set pieces or combat for most of the day. !!!!!!. Can't win.
In additional good family news my daughter has finally cracked riding her bike without stabilizers- she is very proud of herself.Bottom line;

Done 15 miles with daughter on the bike across the past 3 days- such a nice way of getting around. She's done so well and been really resilient with learning the new skill, I'm really proud of her.
My mum is irritating me at the moment. She spent yeserday sending my sister nasty text messages and today has started on me. (Drunk both times) Then when I go low contact with her again for a few weeks will start pulling the 'I'm so lonely and isolated and everyone is horrible and ignores me' card, she doesn't at all seem to get that it's her behaviour that causes it all.
Hillariously she'd referenced talking to my dad about what she was messaging me about so I sent him a text to ask. (They've been divorced for a decade) He apparently hasn't spoken to her in any way in 5 years so the 'conversations' she is referencing took place 6+ years ago.

So daughter has asked for a new bike for her birthday (4 weeks away) as she's grown out of the one she got from my dad last year.
Yesterday I managed to track down a halfirds bike on fb marketplace for £25 (£130 new- I checked the model) and went and collected it. Very pleased with myself.Bottom line;
