    I did thank you.

Husband is grumpy because it's meant to be raining over most of this weekend for the family camp. *shrugs* not sure what i can do about that.

We don't have the vans at the moment as they're all SORNed because of the lack of hobby stuff so we're having to just pack the car (which means we can't use our camping bedframe as it won't fit) Ive borrowed a roofbox from a friend to maximise space and I'm going to take our camping mattress and lots of blankets and layer it over tarps on the floor but he's grumping about my 'incredible ability to none plan.' Not actually sure what more I could do without a van but hey ho.

Daughter's friend is over for the day so they're giggling and running around upstairs at the mo- lovely to hear.

Ive been refitting a piece of hobby stuff for my husband for the past week-  I ideally want to get it finished before tomorrow so i can take it camping and sit and handfinish it over the weekend but I am really worried it won't fit him in the arms (had to cut the panels quite close) and it will add depth to his grumping. So I'm taking my sweet time closing the sides to delay him trying it on. Need to just get it over with really.

Oh my goodness how do people cope with more than one child!? I love that she has friends and its really important she has time with them but they are SO LOUD!

Less than an hour now and ive made myself a strategic brew.

  • What an amazing story, I will try to follow you to see how you get on. Your husband sounds ace. How lovely to get it all off your chest and start rebuilding and it sounds as if it is a real family affair. This also sounds like quite a feminist issue as much of your debt was about getting into the workforce as a young mum and being nuked with associated costs.

The sewing piece fits him perfectly :relieved::smiley: So well in fact he's instantly cheered up.

Got his step brothers wedding tomorrow an hour away, child is super excited- she loves weddings and we are usually invited to 4-5 a year and haven't been to one since Feb 2020. Her outfit has been picked out for days!

The wedding was ace, also because the bride and groom have a 4 year old son there was lots of stuff for the kids to do. Llama and donkey petting for one thing! Daughter was thrilled.

Ive put the roofbox and roofbars on and loaded the tarps. Will prob aim to set off at 10.30am ish tomorrow so we arrive at midday.

I enjoyed camping. Husband was being a bit of an !!!!!! through a lot of it; overreacting to things people were saying, high level snarkiness and starting 'debates' with people then talking over them and not letting anyone get a word in edgeways.

Same as usual to be honest- brief sulk from him on returning home that I hadn't "been supportive when they were all ganging up on him" His version of reality is so twisted. He's over it now as he feels that he 'won' all the debates.

However I enjoyed the time catching up with his family. His aunt bought me 2 bottles of alcohol for my birthday so I've gone from nothing to 4 bottles of spirits and two bottles of amaretto. Should last a good while!

  • Oh I’m so glad he won all the debates. It would have been nice if his family could have made him a trophy, but a win is a win! 😬
