Ah Kakiste. Bless you! Your OH does sound like a nightmare. And you’re so lovely! It makes me so cross. But your attitude is amazing and I admire just how strong you are! I love your diary!3

Another one just stopping by to wish you luck with your battle plan. You're way more sensible than I am.3

Thanks guys. He's got over himself now and is back to being OK.
I've pulled a lower back muscle at a dance class at the gym yesterday (there was an amazing ballerina style spin move which did it for me!) so I'm heroically wincing my way through cleaning and shopping and then i'm going to sit on the sofa with a hot water bottle and a brew and read for a bit.
Bubble friend is round for the afternoon so I've gone out to do the shopping but currently having 10 mins on MSE in the car as there's currently a queue.

Stressing madly about the GCSE evidence. I've got it all I just need to do a mountain of paperwork in the next 2 work days to evidence their grades. It's doable and hopefully tomorrow should be a quiet day with more than half the kids in school out on the big reward trip so I am aiming to have most of it done by tomorrow 4.30pm.
In other irritating news my only pair of work shoes are leaking. Irritating and I don't want to spend money on them for the last 7 weeks of term. I also don't want to have to wear my beautiful rocket dog boots as they are 1 of 2 nice pairs of boots I own (and the only one practical for school as they don't have a heel) as they were my main 30th birthday present and I don't want to wear them more than I have to. If I can eek them out until the end of summer term I'll ask for work shoes for my birthday and see if anyone delivers.
Failing that the first month I am debt free I am going to spend £60 on buying some decent work shoes rather than the my current pair that cost me £8. Then they'll last for a good few years. Vimes theory of socioeconomic unfairness is highly relevant here.Bottom line;

As the parent of a child that should have taken his GCSEs this year I'd just like to say that I totally appreciate the effort that all teaching staff have made and are still making to ensure that the pupils that they teach will get the grades that they deserve.5

Gosh it sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Just to say be careful timing wise as you don't want him to lay claim to what is yours when you eventually divorce.1

My husband is also a teacher, its tough at the moment but I'm so glad that you're job is something you enjoy and gives you a good escape from home. Sounds like you have a really good plan together and that can help you get through the tough times. Just buy the work shoes. Throw it on the 0% or something if you need to tbh I’m a bit shocked by what you’ve written re shoes. Know you’ve written on my diary that you’re frugal with money but it’s good to be well presented and in my world one pair of work shoes is def not enough. Really you should have a work wardrobe - clothes and shoes (multiple) for work and other clothes and shoes for home.3

I would buy shoes too if at all possible. I do wear mine into the ground, but I remember walking to school with plastic bags in my shoes to keep my feet dry, back when we got one pair for the new school year and then some sandals in summer and if you chose badly you had to make do! I appreciate we just couldn’t afford more and would never have thought to ask for any, but now we are in charge of our own shoes 😁 Can you tweak the budget to get some?Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

You need decent shoes when you are on your feet all day. There isnothing worse than soggy feet and it is not good for your feet to be wet.
