Sorely needed to replace our hoover so I've been keeping a look out and managed to pick up a shark hoover from the John Pye auction site for £50! Feeling very pleased about that. Hopefully I should be able to sell my upright corded hoover for at least £15 on fb marketplace to recoup some of the spending.

My husband has decided that we're going to clear the debt to his parents. He's transferred £3k from his account and ive cleared out the £2k in my NSI so thats another family debt down another massive chunk. Getting closer.
He's still got £2k in his account so we could afford to pay my dad back completely in July- lets see if that's suggested... If not then i can afford to pay him back on my own just after the summer.Bottom line;

At the moment I still look to be well on course to be debt free by next summer so that makes me feel very positiveBottom line;

Went swimming today and have 4 gym classes booked for this week. 2 of them are 6.30am start! Going to get right back into it. I'm still a size 16 but my work pants/jeans now just fit rather than all my waistbands being really loose.
Plus its nice to have the time just doing something for myself.Bottom line;

Home is a bit rubbish at the moment. As I mentioned a few days ago we've paid off my husband's parents but the expected fall out mood wise has landed on me. I think I would actually feel better if he just said something like 'look, having to pay out all this money makes me feel very bitter towards you because of how far you've set us back financially.' I can completely understand that he would feel bad about that and I would have lots of sympathy towards him. However he instead latches onto the most ridiculous things to start fights over. Last night's (waited until after 11pm as is his MO) was suddenly announcing that he wanted me to get invisible braces.
....... There is a slight backstory here; he's mentioned it before about 2 years ago, because he thought my bottom teeth were getting 'more crooked' which I personally couldn't see however in order to keep the peace (and also get it straight in my own head) I went to my dentist (who offers the braces and would get commission from them) and asked his opinion. He compared a current xray to one taken a decade ago and said if there was movement then he couldnt see it and given the cost wouldn't recommend it as a necessary treatment- he also said that if I did have them then after paying out the significant amount of money my teeth would, in all likelyhood migrate slowly back to their current position anyway over about a decade. I told my husband this at the time.
....................
So he raised it again and I reminded him that I did get it looked into and then reminded him of what the dentist had said. He then pooh poohed that, said he "might not be a good dentist anyway" and that "normal" people would ask for a second opinion. I pointed out that if a qualified professional who would literally receive money for doing a treatment doesn't recommend it then it's a given that it's not a needed procedure. He then said "well you won't be doing it anyway, simply because you don't want to" And I explained that yes, having had braces as a teenager I'm not keen to go through it again (it made my jaw constantly ache for the 18 months I had them on- and I hate any kind of jaw/tooth pain- really gets to me) Adding that i'd do it if it was recommended but given that the professional says it's not then I don't see the point. He then said he keeps his hair shorter than he might keep it otherwise because I prefer it that length and i'm not willing to do the same back. I did say that there was a significant amount of difference between a haircut and 18 months of pain on a non necessary medical procedure but apparently there is none and "it just demonstrates how little regard I give to his feelings or wishes"
I then raised the cost. They start at £1,500 but more often than not end up costing £5k! I said that other than the non-necessary and pain elements, I don't have £5k to spend on braces (which I don't want and aren't needed) It's a third of my remaining debt, I wouldn't be allowed any credit/nor would I want any and even if I was debt free; 5k is literally half a house deposit.
But he's in a sulk because of "our !!!!!! marriage where it's all about me and my wishes and he will just continue to slave away to clear up my messes and get no benefits or consideration at all"
What a !!!!!! idiot. *heavily rolls eyes*
Sorry for the rant.
