She can make cracking toast unsupervised and a decent cup of tea under supervision. Sadly given boiling water I dont let her do it unsupervised yet; I reckon ive got about 2 years before I can delegate tea making and have one brought to me. *counts down*

Made an incredible wet and cold weather dinner from Jack Monroe's cookbook (the one I got free from Twitter last month) Its basically a toad in the hole but you substitute sausages with canned hotdogs (which we get regularly from food group) Very moreish. Served it with veg and gravy.
    Daughter a massive fan.

Awesome that it doesn't need it right now, gives you a bit of breathing room! We got told last MOT and re-iterated at our summer service that brake discs were going to need doing, not the cheapest job. I am happy I was able to set aside the cash for it and we've got our MOT booked on Monday. I'm fully expecting the bill to be a few hundred but got it set aside plus a £100 surplus (which will likely get spent on fixing our air blowers, not an MOT failure but annoying nonetheless). It really makes getting "the call" from the garage much less stressful doesn't it?

It does. There is the option of getting it done now and then spreading the cost on Klana (offered by the garage) but I hate the thought of taking on any more debt.
I've already done the budget for March so there is no wiggle room there but depending on the quote (still waiting for it to come through) I could get it done in April which would coincide with my easter holiday and that makes everything much easier as i dont have to faff round organising lifts for myself into work and getting a friend to drop my daughter off at school.

So I joined instagram. Specifically only to follow Henry Cavill. Is that sad? Probably.... But I have no regrets.

Its been a week of mad deadlines at work but met all of them.
Lesson obs on Monday, ive left work with everything sorted and prepped for it so I can not think about it over the weekend.
Then after Monday I'm going to concentrate on building evidence files for my 3 GCSE history students as it is now confirmed that I'll be awarding grades. Out of the three, two would have walked an exam anyway so will end up with a similar grade but one of the girls would have fallen to pieces in an exam as she cant handle stress but her class and home based work is easily a 5 (C) but she would have never in a million years got that in an exam hall. So very happy for her.

I'm so glad they're giving you teachers the ability to select grades. I thought it was ridiculous the lottery system they were doing before.

I was very much a C student, mainly because of exams! I'd have probably done quite well out of the situation haha.

Lesson obs went well. One kid being an idiot but I was on it, squashed the behaviour and hoyed him out the classroom within 15 seconds of him starting and he did the lesson in detention after school with me, so that's the "effective behaviour management" box ticked. Rest of class were engaged, LOs on the board, lesson showed progression of learning from previous work and we reviewed learning at the end. Along with a decent set of planning.

Feedback is officially tomorrow but I feel confident that she liked what she saw.

Hillariously I was so wrapped up in prep for the observation that I forgot I had my year 10s straight after! 😳 So i announced a recap lesson where we brainstormed various points of the core syllabus as a 'review of their learning'

Feedback was highly glowing so very pleased with that. My "infecious love of and enthusiasm for history" was remarked on; to which I made a sarcastic joke and brushed it off then actually doubled back and accepted the compliment (I'm painfully British!)

New kid starting in my form group tomorrow. Apparently he is a fire starter- as in literal arsonist. Work is never boring!
