    It's so exciting!

I just checked the online banking and the balance of my loan with HSBC is 1575!!! Much, much less than I thought and just 9 payments left. I thought it was in the region of 2000 for some reason. I must, however, stop thinking about all the stuff I'm going to buy when we're debt free. In my head I've already had a much newer car, a lovely holiday and a few weekends away when what we really need is a new bathroom, fitted kitchen and a new floorboard in the front room. Also, some new carpet in my bedroom and a lovely dressing table that I can sit at and be girley (it's difficult to be girley in a house dominated by males , that's why the cat and the hamster are female, just so I can have someone or something on my side:D). Those horrible fitted wardrobes will go, the kids room will be decorated... I could go on and on... I think I'll treat myself to another Vodka and tonic and have a good old daydream tonight. After all, it is Friday and the diet doesn't start til Monday....;)

money saving is addictive and if you know that what you have in your purse has to last then you'll have to have the money prized from your hands to buy anything.
I have had a tenner in my purse for ages now and I Know that I have only £1.60 in the bank with no overdraft any more, so the cash has to last.
I probably now spend about £20 a month on bits, everything else is so well accounted for that you would think I am any army sergeant.

    BUT I LOVE IT!!!
  • Have joined moozie's challenge for the week, with a misc. spends budget of £12. I cant see, apart from the odd loaf, how I'm going to touch it. I realised yesterday, after I had spent £60 at the supermarket, that my Good Old Nan will be feeding the kids and I Mon, Tue, Wed AND Thurs as I'm working later shifts than normal and she will pick them up from school, so I've got a fridge full, my diet starts Monday and I'm a but confused what to do. I think I'll take some stuff over to Mums to freeze.

Going to work today, been asked to cover in one of the large shops, I usually work in the call centre, quite looking forward to getting myself all dolled up and facing the public, on the phones no one can see if you've not bothered to do your hair properly or put any foundation on!:D I think I'll wear my glasses, still, rather than contacts, I think they make me look quite distinguished.

Think I will join a diet thread tonight, 'fess up that my size 12 jeans are starting to get an unsightly muffin top when I wear them. :o
  • Well, I've still got a fridge full. Had to shell out for 2 birthday cards (nephew and aunt), and was everso naughty and had a 55p packet of after eight munchies (I'm a sucker for dark chocolate with mint. I've only eaten 4, though, and put the rest in my glovebox. )Also needed bread, so I've got 8 pounds in my purse til Friday. I could probably do with getting a repeat prescription for my pain killers this week, my slipped disc plays up rotten in the cold weather and even though they make me a bit dozy it's a cheaper alternative that a visit to the osteopath and acupuncturist. There was a bit of spare change too, but that's going in the moneybox under the sink, which I've decided is my iPod nano fund. I have iPod envy since I bought my eldest lad one for Christmas as I have a years-old mini and battery lasts about 5 minutes. I can justify it because I use it every day when I'm in the car and very often when I want some peace from the football/Xbox/ Wii/ neighbours kids etc. (nothing to do with Russell Brand and his podcast, honest! ;))

So, still doing well. Have held onto OH's 20 petrol money, but I'm not counting that as I know he will need it.

Am trying to think of some ideas for a cheap day out with the lads (they are 11 and 8) for Sunday when OH is away. Is it wrong that I am looking forward to having the bed to myself?

  • I didnt have the NSD that I thought I would, (tempted by crisps!) but I actually came out better off. I bought DS1 a pair of trainers a few months ago for a bargain price in a sale. Turns out they weren't such a bargain as they were too small for him! Anyway, in all the fuss while my head was *somewhere else* I forgot to take them back to the shop. I found them today and offered them to my Nan for nothing for when she goes to the gym to say thanks for all the help she gives me and she refused to take them for nothing and gave me the £15 I paid for them! I've kept £5 back in my purse to buy the kids a treat when DH is away and put the other tenner in my iPod fund!:T
