Kids will be away being looked after by various Nans etc during the school holidays so I have a very small shopping list this week, which is a bit odd. Good, though as I did overspend a little last week. Thinking about it, I may even just go straight to Lidl/ Aldi instead of Asda and do it all there, see if it's any cheaper.
Ha, and irony of ironies, the day I pay off the Frasercard, I come home from work and find they've sent me a new one!! It's been put away, dont you worry. It is very pretty, though.0 -
Got up this morning raring to go, but realised that since I've discovered Flylady my house is actually clean this morning so I cant do much except vacuum but DH and DSs are still in bed, enjoying the half term break. I'll just have a cup or two of earl grey, a bit of porridge and fold some laundry, I think.
Overspent by about 50 over the last two weeks, so am going to make this week as cheap as poss.My sisters owe me 34 each and a friend owes me 45 for some tickets I picked up for them. Have to give DS1 money for the cinema tomorrow and put a tenner in my car, but other than that the kids are fed, I'm fed and we need nothing. Still putting my plan into action on the 29th with an overall cash surplus of around 890. I am thinking I will split it this way: 200 Debenhams card (highest APR) 300 Hubby's Virgin Card (next highest) 70 Topshop card, 190 Hubby's Egg card. The rest will go off the holiday balance which stands at around 400.
As so far as March's commission payment goes, I'm doing my own 10 pounds a day challenge and am up to 110.50, so I'm doing ok there. I will be happy with over 250 as this guarantees I will pick up 900 or so, anything over that is a bonus.
Now the bad news. the buyer for my "rare" skirt has suddenly gone NARU. Have put it up for a second chance offer, but it looks like I will have to re-auction it. Still no mobile phone, but at least my bill will be the minimum and I'll see if I have any points on my savings card at work that I earn by selling a certain company's products. I can turn those into high street vouchers to buy a new one.
I'm taking that one on the chin, these things happen.
Hope you have a good week everyone.0 -

This will clear Virgin and Topshop? Could you not also clear Marbles £290 and Barclaycard£180 as well and be free from 4 more cards? (FROM OP)
As for that new H of F card i hope its not somewhere safe. I hope its chopped into little bits and you have rung them up and cancelled your account. When you keep the card the temptation to spend is always there - its just for our hols, xmas etc and i'll clear it after that. Dont fall back into the trap!!:D

Well, the reason I wasnt paying off anymore quite yet was "just in case", well, "just in case" has happened. The PC has died. We still have an ancient laptop, but no way update our ipods, get to my spreadsheets, anything. It seems like it 2 steps forwards and about 17 steps back. All my hard work has been for nothing. one of the mortgage holiday months has got to be used to replace the thing. I could cry. I knew this would happen. I'm just grateful it's not either of the cars.0

So sorry to hear that - hope you have everything backed up OK?
Have you tried Dell? They do great stuff, incl. VAT and delivery, and are good value. And they are on quidco as well....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Always the way!!
Look on the bright side - although you will be using your mortgage money so cant clear another debt in the past you would have just got out the CC and increased your problem - not now.:T"With no money you start to discover your own inner resource" GK Chesterton2 adults, 3 children0
