Morning (just)!
I'm another one trying to take regular breaks from being online as I have loads to do between my school work and the kids school work - I can't wait to switch the laptop off most days.
HK - so sorry to hear about the cats. It's heartbreaking when you lose one of the family I know - hope the other one has come home.
Belated happy anniversary to you and your wife Ally.
I've also been finding my days blending into one recently. I'd lost my mojo a bit over the past few days as the weather got colder and more miserable - it really makes a difference. I'm feeling a bit more with it today though.
So far today I've done:
Breakfast using up jams in the cupboard
Checked banking(I should be almost rich at this time of year)
Online meeting 1
Cats fed and litter changed
Hoovered through downstairs
Wiped kitchen surfaces
Still to come:
Online meeting 2
Get out for a walk with DD (then another with ds if he wants to later as the rules have changed)
Get both kids to do some schoolwork
Continue watching Harry Potter marathon with the kids
Tidy living room and wash dishes
Get dd to prepare dinner.
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hi all I feel I get more mesmerised and find I get worried if I'm more than 2 m away from a screen, as I might be seen to not be working. Obviously bull! Although I do do some work! And I got an update from a student today who hasn't been in touch for over a week and deadline is on Friday, so that is always a relief.
Got a positive letter form tax credits, and it was a positive - not a bill claiming back the money I got at the end of April - that money was nice, but I had nut mustered the courage yet to check that they would not result in a bill.
And just to quote something very ironic - for the last 2 years I have not paid anything on my student loans for my teaching qualification, and then book £16 gone from my furlough money. Just weird we give you this and then we take that!
Today is the day I'm not getting out of bed, I'm still here reading and writing. Quite comfortable, but some serious movement will be required later. The dog keeps looking at me like I'm a slug ... probably true.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Glad I am not the only one feeling lazy today - I got up early as usual, took the dog out and did the normal early morning jobs, and haven't really done much else sinceI did ring a friend whom I hadn't spoken to for a couple of weeks, and was on the phone for ages - not moneysaving at all, but friend is on her own in a flat with no outside space, and I knew she would be needing a chat! Also watered the raggle taggle collection of pots in the front garden. Most of the spring bulbs are over now, but the lavender is coming out, along with various self sown things in the pots and border. I don't take the bulbs out, as I have nowhere else to plant them, and just stick in small seedlings where there is a space as opposed to replanting them seasonally, so the pots never look very spectacular in the summer. However, they are old, weathered terracotta and stone-ish ones, chipped and cracked here and there, mostly ones I bought to sell on but didn't because they were damaged. But I quite like the faded looking effect, groupled round an equally tatty sundial. It is cold here again, with a frost forecast again for tonight
but supposed to be warming up from Friday. I must go outside in a minute and see if the seedlings need watering.
Dinner tonight will be the goulash thing I made a couple of days ago, and I will be lighting a fire later, as it feels like winter here!1 -
Morning all 😊
hope you managed to catch up on some sleep ziggy
dawn your garden always sounds so lovely and you seem to get so much from a relatively small space.I’ve found a local gardening co-operative thingy that are selling plants for a donation towards their poly tunnel so I’m going to send the lady and e mail today. She only lives round the corner and will drop them off on her daily exercise. They have a really good variety of veg and flowers. So will get a mix.My list:
e-mail lady about flowers
water seedlings
water tubs outside
Check banking, move some money around some pots
washing outside, one load done overnight
do another area of smalls bedrooom. This is working well doing a bit each day with her. Probably just today and then we can start adding the finishing touches we already have.Talk to DH about idea I have for the playroom and our bedroom. If he agrees, see if we can order the products online.Reply to a couple of e mails
some badge work with the smalls
have a good day everyone. Purps.5 -

Afternoon. V anxious couple of days, my head doing me in. I feel better when I have eaten and am doing my own thing (reading/writing) but as soon as I have any other responsibility my mind starts racing.
- -spent money today/yesterday. Some beauty products (for DD) which will come out of DD's pocket money plus a couple for me while I was there :-)
- -more spending - a pillow for DD see if it helps her sleep better, plus some toiletries I can't get at my little supermarket
- -managed to resist impulse buying an online course which was reduced. When would I do it??!
- -have been doing some writing, just gently in small doses. Nothing demanding. No self-challenges to write XX words or finish a novel length book by XX date!
- -similar for work though I got a load done yesterday because it was a thorny problem and I didn't look up for hours.
- -dinner from freezer yest and today
- -water garden plants. Have almost killed my radishes oops
- -must try to tidy, the house is a tip. Hard when my head is like this, I just want to hide.

Here's me:- Jackfruit chilli in SC
- TOMM kitchen - everything seems more in order when the kitchen is clean, doesn't it?! Now the challenge is not to eat or drink anything and keep it spic and span 🤣
- Sorted YNAB👏
- Started doing jigsaws again - keeping me busy of an evening while I'm watching something on tv rather than just ffarting around on my phone
- Catching up on box sets
- Keep looking online at houses that are in the middle of nowhere - really enjoying this slower pace of life and would love to do it. Just need to figure out jobs etc. The latest one is 250 miles away from the office 🤣 (but I think they would be accommodating if I did want to move 🤔)
- Washing hanging outside
Just over 2 weeks until I'm back at work - been off since 5 April last year! 😱

Afternoon allPurps, hope you got the plants you were afterAnxiousThe Elephant, sounds like good progress you are making there! Welcome, by the wayTryingAgain, hope you are ok.La E, I lived in the middle of various nowheres for many years, and would again like a shot. Unfortunately we decided to be sensible when buying this house, on the edge of a small town, thinking it would be more difficult as we got older etc. I thnk we compromised too early really, though buying a relatively cheap house in a not very expensive area (for the SW) did allow us to retire early, so there are compensations!Nothing very exciting to report (when is there, at this weird time?), but I have / will:Walked dog just after 5am, before anyone else much was aroundChecked banks, finalised Icyland order due tomorrowTidied up, put stuff away, put some old magazines into the recycling, cleaned the bathroom and kitchen etcLoaf in the BMMade some apple and cinnamon muffins using a Nigella recipe. Very nice, but a bit sweet for me, I would make them again but cut down on the sugar content a fair bit. The recipe is at https://www.nigella.com/recipes/apple-and-cinnamon-muffins?utm_source=mailer_rotd&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Apple_and_Cinnamon_Muffins_20200514 if anyone is interested. They are pretty easy, and used up a couple of sad apples. I will freeze most of them when they are cool enough.Dinner will be a pasta bakeStill need to do the watering. Frost again this morning, but it is supposed to be warming up from now on according to the forecast. I really hope it does - I have plants clamouring to get out of their pots. Hoping to get them out over the weekend. But I will leave the fleece on the beans, potatoes etc that are already outside till tomorrow to be sure.

Thanks, @DawnW for sharing the apple and cinnamon muffin recipe, they sound scrummy, I also like the idea of using walnuts instead of almonds.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
