They are yummy @Baileys_Babe but a bit sweet for my taste. I will reduce the sugar when I make them again. I can't see any reason why you couldn't use walnuts. I had some almonds open (in the freezer, to avoid them going rancid and having to throw them away) so used those. I tend to use what I have got, so may well use different nuts next time.Well, it is sunny, but we had another frost last night, albeit lighter than previously. Not supposed to have one tonight, but I think I will leave the fleece on tender plants for at least another night! Walked dog just after 5, and it was cold - needed my gloves and woolly hat, which I have washed and put away once, thinking I wouldn't need them any more for a few months.Today I have / will:Wash hair and leave to dry on its own (Done)Sort out bird table and bird bath - messy lot!Hoover downstairs, maybe some of upstairs as well (I have 2 lots of upstairs...)Tidy up back garden - I seem to have stuff everywhere still, from moving things to get access to the compost heap the other day.Water seedlings and anything else that needs it.Check veg drawers in fridge to see if anything needs using or freezingIcyland delivery this afternoon - it is easy to get a slot with them here now, they seem to have next day delivery slots available most of the time.OH wants me to cut his hair - heaven knows what that will look like! My hair is driving me mad as well but I think I will stick with tying it back!Lunch will be goats cheese from the freezer with fresh bread and salad bits - for me, anyway, not sure what OH will want.Dinner will be curry - I got 2 types out of the freezer to share, so it is just a matter of heating them up and cooking some rice6

watch some free content on ewe tube later as a family

Morning al! La E - the idea of being 250 miles from the office is rather appealing! Can I also be 250 miles from everyone??
Like you, I'd like to continue WFH full time (already did 2 days WFH a week) and just spend less time, well, spending. Everything I did when I left the house involved money, except walking the dog. Now I only walk the dog and I just spend nothing!
Today- -work thing which might take all day to solve, will keep me busy which is better for my anxiety
- -spag bol from freezer mince and mushrooms, celery that need using. No onions to be used, for Reasons.
- -make shopping list for my weekly trip out Of The House - must be tiny spend this week cos even last week's was huge. prices are high and selection is tiny, forcing me to buy premium brands. We need dishwasher tablets again and I am NOT spending 6 quid on it! 6 quid!!
- -water plants in house
- -walk dog, love walking the dog 🐶🐕🐶
- -no tidying done at all for two weeks, I will be better at weekend now my head is a little better.

Hi everyone 👋
Oooh, you lot are encouraging me to dream about my new country house 😆😂
@TryingAgain2022 - Oooh, that sounds great that you're not spending anything at the min. I guess when things go back to normal you might be in a wee bit of a new routine and not be up for spending as much again🤷♀️
@ziggy2407 - I love the sound of all your baking! Mmm... Have you won any comps recently? I was genuinely annoyed when I didn't win the £10k for life lotto game the other night. I really had a good feeling.🤣
Ooh @Baileys_Babe - you reminded me to check about a refund I'm due from car insurance - coming before the end of May apparently 👍
So, in small things news:- WM didn't go on today 👏
- Didn't bother washing my hair🤗
- Nice wee walk round the park listening to an audio book I've been trying to finish for years👍
- Got 50% off code for a pressie for a pal👏
- Check YNAB is all a-ok😇
- Paid off my next account in full - stuff I'd bought before first payday/back when I needed new jeans to wear out in the real world🤣
- Got a pizza in the freezer - hopefully save us a takeaway tomorrow night when we can't be bothered cooking 💰
- Need to check online shop and make sure we're only getting stuff we need

Good evening all,
I'm really struggling to keep up at the minute. Youngest needs my computer for school work during the day and so I find I'm trying (and failing!) to catch up in the evenings. Its a really strange time and I find it bizarre how the weeks are just flying past.
La E, I've messaged you about the fb group. I'm back on fb now for kids school related stuff so would be nice to join you all.
In the way of small things
* banking all checked and spreadsheets updated
* all meals from stores, its nice all eating together, clearing up the kitchen together and just making one meal for us all. This is something we will have to keep doing once this virus is gone as its made a big difference to our family life
* Love hearing about all the baking you're all doing, but none of that happening here as I'm trying to lose weight and baking would be my downfall! (Limiting myself to a nightly kitkat instead)
* Washed a load and dried outside, put all straight away hung up in wardrobes to avoid ironing anything (8 weeks and counting.... I really don't miss DH's work shirts!)
* Chatted with my parents on the phone but we finish on 59 minutes to keep it a free call between us!
* Face timed another friend who I know is struggling with the isolation. Was happy to see her smiling
* Made a chilli for tonights meal using up the last pepper from the fridge that was about to turn.
* Made a veg sauce (was going to do a spag bol but we had cottage pie yesterday and chili tonight!) so veggie sauce to use up a big punnet of mushrooms that had got pushed to the back of the fridge, going to have this week pasta and a bit of cheese over the weekend. The fridge is looking a little bare now but we have a click and collect at mr T next wed but plenty in the freezer to keep us going.
I think thats all from me.
Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

I was like @Baileys_Babe, thought i had posted previously but no sign of it. I think i edited it but then forgot to post it.
Missing puss cat was found by neighbour while i was out hunting for her. Fortunately DD was in, i have never been so relieved.
Used this week to step away from everything and have a breather. No paperwork, have just pottered with diy bits.
Tried to fit a new plug socket today but the back too big and wouldnt fit in. Have ordered another one. That will teach me!
*banking all checked, everything good and paid
*minimal food waste still going well. I had half tin of custard left over that DD didnt like. Made 2 medium trifles which were eaten very quickly and custard was used up
*another christmas shoebox completed. Trying to really make the most of this lockdown time.
* hopefully WM on tomorrow. Weather hasnt been great and very cold. Heating went on for a hour tonight. Hoping for the hot weekend promised.
*DW always once a day on eco setting.
*stocked up on cat food when ive been into h.barg@ins. Cheapest place by far.
Thats about it from me. Hope everyone is staying safe xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning all. Glad the missing puss was found quickly happy kitties. Sorry to hear of the loss of one of your other cats. My cat is currently curled up next to me after trying to trip me up both on the stairs and whilst making my morning coffee. He’s feeling a bit sorry for himself after being sick this morning! My list for today:
disinfect the hallway where cat was ill
compare home insurance online as it’s up for renewal in a couple of weeks
look at car insurance as my company said I should get £25 refund which I’ve not received
look at next weeks meal plan and tweak after veg box delivery
help DH with decorating he started yesterday
run later
Wrap a birthday gift and post
look at future birthdays and see if I need to be organised with anything (grateful now i
bought the whole years worth of cards back in February)
knit
have a good day all. Purps.6 -
@PurpleFairy26 my car insurance contacted me in April to say they were going to refund me £25 and then nothing happened. This morning my first email is from them saying the refund is being processed and should be with me in the next 14 days. I guess they are having to process the refund in waves.
