Thanks to all who have wished my DS well. He is sleeping on the sofa at the moment. He's drunk but hasn't eaten anything yet.

No wonder he's ill then jannyannie:D :rotfl:

Seriously though, having nothing to eat wont harm him, as long as he has had something to drink. Hope he's feeling better soon. The sofa's a good place to be when they're not feeling too good.

Editted to add, I know he's not drunk and is poorly xxxx

    Afternoon all,

H:bdaycake:appy birthday Thriftlady, hope that you are having a good day.

Jannyannie...thought for a minute that you mean ds was drunk, but got your drift on second reading!

Congratulations to you very organised people who have finished your Christmas shopping, I'm doing well for me but a bit to go yet. Couldn't handle have my decorations and tree up yet, but would love to be off to a Christmas fair in Europe...anywhere, will make a big effort next year.

OH and I spent most of morning at funeral, had lunch out before we came home so no cooking to do now...not much in humour anyway so just as well.

Plumduff...congratulations on getting rid of mortgage, great feeling.

Hope that all who are not well will feel better soon, weather not very conducive to good health...I feel miserable for no real reason.

    Hugs to all,
    Marie

Plumduff - very well done on the final mortgage payment - I am most jealous - must be a wonderful feeling of freedom

Learning to Save - that is so not a nice thing to wake up to for you or DD, hope everyone in your house recovers very quickly.

Hester - OMG! Surely she wont keep her job for long - perhaps you should giver her her marching orders before she does lose her job. I am very glad she doesnt work at my kids schools.

Well best laid plans and all that - had unexpected visitors all day today and have done nothing bar some washing. Feeling absolutely shattered for no reason at all. Am going to iron dd's jeans as she is going to a sleepover and needs them for tomorrow although she has said doesnt wnt to go ggrrrrr- she is driving me mad today as she does most weekends. Then going to park my bottom in front of the telly - may even have a takeaway.

Tomorrow going to get up early and get in my office and ignore everything and get on with some work. Think wont have a roast joint - have some lamb chops in the freezer and oh can cook them.

Hate days like today - feel have achieved nothing. Oh well Strictly Come Dancing should cheer me up later. Dont know what they will do now that Kelly's left and maybe Letitia will miss her pantomine after all.

Tiredmum - we are booked to go there on Boxing Day - thought it would make a change from sitting round in laws very bored and kids asking to go back home. We are really looking forward to it but I will be paranoid about the kids falling over on the ice and breaking something as we are going on holiday less than a month later.

I have in my mind sitting there in a snowy park drinking hot chocolate whilst the kids skate. Also we have booked on the big wheel.

Argh, I just typed a big reply and lost it!!!!

Let's try again shall we

Pink - Re:the musical instrument - just send him in with a can of beans - they are the musical fruit after all!:)

Plumduff - Congrats on paying off your mortgage  :j I can't even afford a deposit yet

Thriftlady - Have a great birthday _party_

Crazychik - I thought the only tune anyone could play on the recorder was 'Londons Burning'! We were oh-so-posh at my school - no recorders for us, we got to learn the ocarina instead :rotfl:

Hester - But with all that money, the uncles don't need manners!!

A day of mixed feelings today, we went out with OHs parents/gran for lunch because it was her birthday - this is HUGE progress, and I can now see th light at the end of the tunnel.

Then we got a phone call to say that OHs friends father has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and given 2 weeks to live  He has gone round there to help sort things out but is very upset.

I have the beginnings of a cold - raging sore throat/streaming nose

Just about to start shifting stuff about upstairs - we are going to move the computers from the living room up there to make room for the :xmastree:

No dinner for us as we are still full up from lunch. Have a good one xx

    Good Evening All

Just had dinner, OH is now putting the tiles up in the bathoom. He did a good job with the Xmas lights outside, but needs to finish off 1 end of the rope light and tidy it away! Its situated in an awkward position. The Freebie Garland looks lovely!

Engineer came out for the TD, he came & went in a space of 15mins. What ever he did (or rather didnt do) its not improved the problem (the door still wobbles) and the squeeking - he never even looked at it. He just said its wear n tear with the age! Is it worth the hassle of calling them again! After all, I pay for the extended warranty every year!

Done some housework, a quick flick through, but cant properly clean until the tiling is complete. Should get it finished tomorrow. Food shopping also to tackle tomorrow, but may get OH to do that.

I think I will have an evening crocheting whilst watching Sat night TV. Ive nearly finished my blanket/throw (treat for me), plus Ive nearly done the baby's shawl! Never done one in cream and this looks lovely!

    Have a good evening all
