Hello again!
Have moved the computers upstairs, and am now back online. Foolishly though, I didn't take any anti-histamines before messing with them though, so dust allergy + cold = almost dead me.
I think OH now wants the middle bedroom as an office. This is quite annoying, because it means the 3rd bedroom has to be a spare room, which will naturally be a double. BUT OH has a single bed that his gran bought him that he WON'T get rid of (which I was going to put in here and use this room as a single room/my office)...but now where am I supposed to put itWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Hi BW
Put the single in the middle bedroom with the office. DH will have to decide if he doesnt want it in the office;)Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -

Apologies for being rude, but my first thought was "somewhere where the sun don't shine" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Err, that's the wine talking there:o I do apologise.
AussieLass - desk is sorted!!! Yes, I turned the light out, can't see the mess now.
Today - oh dear oh dear oh dear....I sat down with a nice cup of tea and a biccie and fell asleep in the afternoon for about five hours, so the housey stuff I was planning didn't really materialise after all. I did get a few things done - a thorough clean and disinfection of the cats' litter tray (after all I am their staff...) some dishes got washed, two loads of washing got done and a stew got made. Oh aye, and a bottle of wine got opened, didn't waste any in the stew though, am slowly marinading myself in it. I am wo*king tomorrow, it's so nice to wo*k with a hangover, don't ya think??
I wrote my Christmas cards. I am depressed now! I have so few friends, nobody loves me...:embarasse Well, I feel like I've got lots of friends on here in MSE Old Style Land, but I do love to send proper cards through the post.
Tomorrow, after wo*k, I'm going to do a spot of pressie wrapping. It's not a big job by any means, but for some reason I really enjoy wrapping things. This year I am being [strike]miserable[/strike] chic and using plain brown paper and coloured ribbon to wrap things up with. If I run out of paper later then I'll go to B&Q and get some wallpaper samples for further wrapping purposes. Tighter than a duck's botty I am!!
PlumDuff, many many congratulations on being mortgage free.
Scuzz, it's probably too late now, but I think it's best to be firm with friends. Say "No, I can't afford it" - that is the truth. OK you may have the money in the bank but your money is already earmarked for more important and longer lasting things. Sounds to me like you are a wee bit more mature in attitude than your friend. She'll get to the place you are at one day. £100 is simply too much to spend on a night out anyway, even if it is a birthday.
I am a bit merry now, better go before I get silly.
Good night all.

SnowyDon't be silly Snowy. Your not silly to us at all.
I'm making some green tomato relish today. My eggplant chutney turned out well & I"m nearly finished DSis dishcloth. Aren't I good.
Have a good nights sleep. ByeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Hi Snowy
I know what you mean this year with no longer working my xmas card list will be very small.
I used to send one to anyone who reported to me, I thought it was the least I could do.
Maybe we could have an OS Xmas card thread??
I never get to the silly stage any more - I just fall asleep:rotfl: :rotfl:
GB - Glad you got DGS3 to take something. Stressful, but you have to win the battle one way or another.

AussieLass, so glad that your AUBERGINE chutney turned out well. It'll go really well with your preserved PEPPERS. Thank you for taking me seriously BTW. You are one in a million:rotfl::rotfl:
DonnyGal, my employers are having a Staff Party for Christmas. They are so "good" that on a previous occasion [strike]Sainsbury's[/strike] the employer in question got banned from that particular venue. There are lots of students, some school kids, and quite a few who don't give a hoot - turns into a bit of a bun fight apparently and the story of the ban from that venue is always related with hearts swollen with pride. Believe it or believe it not, I'm not going to the staff do...I'm old enough to be [strike]mother[/strike] Auntie to many of my colleagues, and like yourself:p I tend to nod off after second course... Oh yeah, the last place I wo*ked nobody sent anybody a card for Christmas, nor for birthdays. What miserable !!!!!!, no wonder I had to walk...
Jeez, think I need to open a second bottle...0 -

Ach Susie, don't you be going on a downer now. You've got your OH and your wee'uns, and your doddery oul ma:D - they all love you!! You've got so much to be thankful for! Think of what you do have rather than what you don't! On Friday at wo*k we had packers collecting for the Simon community, ie people who don't even have a home to go to. Sometimes it's easy to forget how many blessings we actually have.
Now, if I could just get myself a nice rich bf.........0 -
i know snowy there are worse off than me but does get me down at times i have no one to chat too other than mum and dh, no mates to have a laugh with, go out together etc
must stop feeling soo down:rolleyes:

And a sigh of relief echoed round the world:rotfl: Only joking Aussie, you know I love you really:D
Snowy, you are not silly, you are young at heart;) And it's good that you know the proper titles of various vegetables:rotfl: ( and yes I know they're fruits, but we use them as veg) I think your method of dealing with a desk is very sensible:cool:
Have done nothing much all day, due to a very late night babysitting. Didn't get to bed until 3 am:eek: So slept very late:o
It's a bit late, but Happy Birthday thriftlady, hope you've had a great day:D :bdaycake: Of course, you'll have made your own, much better cake:rotfl:
Night all,
CM xYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
