Pinch punch, first of the month! Well, that's what Amie always says, and if it's good enough for Amie....
Morning everyone
Happy birthday Thriftlady, have a fantastic day.
Sorry I haven't been around much this past week, I've just been so utterly tired. Wo*k has gone bonkers crazy busy, so I'm worn out. It's a supermarket in case you're wondering - it's taking the brunt of the Christmas rush with lots - and I mean lots - of southern Irish coming up to do their shopping. The day whizzes by, but I'm fit to drop every evening.
Catznine, many congratulations on your imminent return to the world of wo*k. I am very jealous of your trip to Cologne, I have been promising myself a trip to the German markets but somehow I never get around to booking it.
Hilstep, sorry to hear that news about your mother. How awful, my heart goes out to her.
It's a horrible day over here in N.Ireland too, lots of wind and rain. My bank balance can't take another battering before payday next week, so I'm going to have a day in and get caught up on housey things.
Have a good day everyone.

Gooooooooooood Morning OSers  :T :j First day of Advent - I've bought the Small Penguins an Advent calendar each this year (small one only, no chocolate
). Though, DD was in such a rush to finish her packing and get off to camp last night, she didn't get a chance to see hers yesterday
DH has thaken DS swimming, so I've been running, and now sat with my coffee, for a quick browse before I finish the ironing.
We have a friend coming for supper (friend of DH's from university - not seen him for some time). Cous cous with chick pea and apricot for supper, followed by apple and plum open pie, then DH and friend will go to the pub to put the world to rights, and I'll have some quality time with my sewing.
Plumduff - well done with your mortgage - great feeling  :T
Happy Birthday to thriftlady :bdaycake:
Haribo - enjoy the fair :j
Donny - have you finished Freecycling your kitchen yet
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Plumduff, Congratulations on becoming debt free! :j
Snowy, good to see you back again. Sorry work is so hectic for you. x
Happy Birthday Thriftlady. Have a great day! :bdaycake:
I did remember the advent calendarbut only because ds2 reminded me last night so I despatched Mr Pink to the roof space to find it . 1st of December is finally here so Christmas begins in the Pink household today. :j Dd’s Saturday job is in a toyshop and she gets discount so she’s been despatched with a list this morning. I will do some Christmas shopping this morning, and then we’re going to a Christmas market this afternoon. This evening I’ll write some cards. I prefer to leave it all to December. I find it more exciting that way and it doesn’t feel like it goes on forever.
The kettle’s boiled so I’m off to pour another coffee.
I hope you all have a lovely Saturday.

Morning Chums and
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THRIFTLADY :bdaycake:
I hope you have a wonderful day. I am a busy bee this morning I have my youngest DD arriving with three of my little grandsons to put up my tree and decorations for me.
Then at lunchtime I have my sis-in-law visiting for lunch ,then late afternoon I am off to my eldest DD's to babysit her two teenager children whilst she goes up to London with her husband for a posh meal and hotel.
Its her 40th birthday tomorrow so he is treating her to nice evening out for the two of them. At least the weather is better than it was 40 years ago it was snowing like the devil on the day she was born. Tomorrow I'm off with the youngest DD and the tribe to the woods to look for pine cones and stuff to decorate their house I shall stay for dinner and get home hopefully in time to watch Cranford tomorrow night. That takes care of my week-end. My cold is slowly drying up thank goodness,I have finished all my Christmas cards and my youngest DD saw them and said 'Oh Mum they're nice can you do me a few' O.K. I replied how many 'Oh I suppose around 20-30 would do !!!Oh well it will keep me busy on Monday I guess.
<<hugs to those in need >>. and a bigto the rest of you
Have a good week-end everyone0 -
Morning All
Happy Birthday Thirftlady
Havent been around as I've had bb probs ie the water board replacing the mains up the road dug through the cable.
Hope everyone is ok, we are so busy at the moment, dh is decorating dd room so she is in with us and we are going to Disneyland Paris on Thursday. On top of this we are having a party for dd tomorrow as its her birthday when we are away and of course the normal xmas preparations. Plans for the day is to make a birthday cake and clean the house from top to bottom as well as getting the pint of milk that was split on the car seat last night cleaned up.
We went to the Ormskirk light switch on last night it was good but very cold and wet. DD saw Father Christmas and didnt cry like last year. Jon Culshaw from Dead Ringers (hes from Ormskirk) did the switching on he was very good and really funny I could'nt see him from where I was stood and it sounded like George Bush was really there.
Better go I have a small person demanding food. Have a good day everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Good morning everyone,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY THRIFTLADY
Catzine - Congratulations on the new job - hope you have a lovely time in Cologne.
Plumduff - Congratulations to you as well, in being mortgage free, one day i hope to join you, but will be a long time yet!!!
LTS - hope the girls will be feeling better soon xxx
Hillstep - sorry about your mum xxx
((HUGS)) to anyone who wants/needs one.
Well, got all the xmas decs put up yesterday, LO was ok at first, until i got the hoover out (always do a huge clean as i go, as its difficult to clean once they are up, so need to make sure its done!!), and then you wouldve thought i was beating him - so the hoovering had to wait until he had gone home. But, its all done, so i have a lovely clean house, and it looks really pretty cos of all the decs!!!
We have all had our advent chocolate this morning (DD High school musical, DS Arsenal and i have a galexy calender!!) They also have a fabric one, which im meant to put a treat in each day (do it each night, to save little fingers going on ahead!!) but i forgot last night, so will do it later for them.
Football today has been cancelled, due to the bad weather yesterday, but it is actually blue sky and sunny at the moment, so quite a nice day hopefully - will be lovely this weekend, not having anything to do at all, so apart from some cooking and washing, im taking it easy!!!
So only plan now is to put the WM going, put the icing on the xmas cake (tomorrow we will then make decorations for it from the left over marzipan and icing to go on top, my 2 love to do that!!) and maybe make some cakes or biscuits.
Hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Good morning everyone,
Happy Birthday Thriftlady  Tell us all your prezzies.
Guess who came to the island this arvy................Santa :jwith a pommy accent.
I mean really. DGS was soooo excited and sat on his lap and got his book. Said *Tanks Santa* afterwards. Ninny forgot her camera  but someone else took it so I'll have to chase her down for it.
They are at the other house tonight although DGS has been with me most of the day. His parents went to the mainland this arv to shop while I took him to the party. DD got her haircut on the island for $10. Looks lovely and I will ring her tomorrow to have one this week. One must keep up with Haribo.
Plumduff :T That's fantastic news. You should be proud of yourself.
Haribo I bet it would take more than mulled wine & nibblies to get you in the mood. What about a lawnmower.
Snowy Have a good housey thing day and don't forget your desk.
Well off to get out of my glad rags. Been to Mass tonight. Hope you all have a great day & (((hugs)) to those feeling ill or have ankle biters that are sick. ByeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
