Ryanair said they would refund now issued voucher how can we refuse this
As per the email you received with the voucher, they will issue cash refunds, you have to get in touch with them to request it.  The email gives a link to the live chat.  They have said though that they will not be processing refunds until the Covid-19 crisis has passed.
  • Got the voucher email today. I don't really want to sit in a chat queue for hours... is anyone else just going to wait and request a cash refund at a later date or do you think it specifically has to be done now? It doesn't sound like they are going to pay refunds any time soon anyway...

I'm waiting.  I appreciate that I'm fortunate, the flights were pretty cheap and I don't need the cash urgently.  I may well use the voucher at some point, if not I'll request a refund in the future.  Like you, I don't want to wait in the queue for hours, just to get told they're not refunding anyway at the moment.

Us too, just waiting. Have another flight in June, expect I will be waiting for that too!

Don't think credit cards are letting you do this - unprecedented times......

  • I got the email today too but I don't want to be stuck with a voucher which has to be used by 17th April, 2021!! Im finding it extremely difficult to get in touch with Ryanair, Ive tried emailing several addresses but just being bounced around or directed to complete a refund claim form. I already requested a cash refuns and have had that acknowledged by Ryanair. They are making it so difficult to contact them.  Wondering if I cover all bases and send them a letter? Been in a queue to "chat" for over two hours now.

I have been offered a voucher instead of a refund also and have spent hours on the phone but to no avail. Does anyone know if contacting card provider would be of benefit even if it is a debit card?

Ryanair Group Customer Care (Ryanair DAC, Lauda & Malta Air)

    Our Ref:xxxxxx

    Dear Customer,

Over the past months the spread of the Covid-19 virus has caused many EU governments to impose flight and/or travel bans which grounded over 99% of Ryanair’s flights. We are doing everything we can to support our customers, our people and protect jobs. We are ready to return flying when Covid-19 is defeated, hopefully sooner rather than later.

We regret that these Government travel restrictions have forced the cancellation of your Ryanair flight(s) under booking reference:: xxxxxx.

Please see below details of your travel voucher for 109.96GBP, the full value of your unused booking. This amount can be used for the purchase of Ryanair flights and other services at any time over the next 12 months. It is simple to use this voucher when making a booking on the Ryanair website or app.

    Voucher Name:  xxxxxx
    Voucher Number:  xxxxxx
    Voucher Value:  109.96GBP
    Voucher Expiry Date:  17/April/2021

If you do not wish to accept this voucher option and wish to move your flight or request a refund, please (removed link) to contact us. Please note that as our customer care agents are required to work from home to limit the spread of COVID-19 virus, payment security restrictions prevent us from processing refunds as quickly as we would like to.

We invite you to use your voucher to book your next trip and we look forward to seeing you again on a Ryanair flight in the near future. Passengers who made their bookings using travel agents, or on line travel agencies should contact these companies from where they purchased their tickets to find out more about their options.

Our priority always remains the health and well-being of our people and customers.

    Yours sincerely,

Ryanair Group Customer Care (Ryanair DAC, Lauda & Malta Air)

Good to see Ryanair up to their old tricks. I want my money back and not to be tied to an airline. I had requested a cash refund. This is completely unacceptable.
