  • Hi everyone and welcome to all new joiners.

I've checked the two credit cards that I can still access online and this month's payments have arrived (£221.41), so I've (at last) been able to update my signature:j.
  • Yippee!

I just paid £225.10 to my credit card :D.Unfortunately this only takes a couple of £ off the amount I started this challenge at ( due to some unexpected expenses that I had to put on the card) but it's still going down! And once loan payment comes off it'll be even better :D:D

    Thanks Jo

I'll definitely carry on listing over the holiday and try and get some things onto turbolister so it's easier when I go back to work. I'll make the most of this burst of enthusiasm while it lasts :) .

    How are you doing?

    Polly

    Hi Polly
Not paid anything off my target as yet. Come the first week in January I get to start tackling this challenge. One resolution I do have is to pay the CC bills as soon as they come in - saving a few £ in daily interest.

I'm still juggling a little this month, although I'm pleased I didn't spend anything more than £25 on credit cards this Christmas, the cost of food really is horrendous, but I've stuck to my budget.

This Christmas clutter is regenerating itself and although I had a good splurge on Sunday it seems to regrow within days.

I just know this time next year I'd love to have that card out of my life, and reading this thread I'm staying motivated until I can do something !

    Hi guys...
DH's salary has gone in so I've done some fiddling and have updated my sig. I'm hoping I'll be able to add some more to the figure after the 1st Jan, when the direct debits come out, but its looking a bit better....

Well my ipod touch sold for £170 which is fab. However i am not including the money until i have been given it, the person is going to pay and collect on Sat so i will stick it straight in the savings account out of my reach before it gets gobbled up in my current account.

Otherwise not much from me. I sold some things on ebay and made £7 profit, not much but a start. I was very pleased with myself today though as i was tempted to hunt round a load charity shops and high street stores looking for a bargain and something to put on Amazon/ebay when i decided i would be faffing. If i had gone i would have only ended up buying a load of junk i didn't really need and things to list on Amazon/ebay that was unlikely to sell. I know this, because i am always doing this, thinking i've found a book which is worth something, only to find out that it wont sell! I end up spending pounds in order to earn pennies, so no more faffing!!

Brilliant result with the ipod, andan. Congratulations:beer:

I know exactly where you're coming from with the charity shop thing too. I'm exactly the same:o . I'm using eBay, Amazon, GreenMet etc to make as much as I can, it's a real mission I'm on:rolleyes: . But after a lot of 'bad' buys from charity shops(albeit cheap ones) I've resolved to sell what I already have first before I buy in a single thing to sell. There's enough clutter here to keep me busy listing for ages:o but I'm a sucker for a potential bargain buy. It's going to be soooo difficult though:eek:. Thank goodness car boot sales have ended for the season. Although I can't sell stuff at least I won't be tempted to buy in more tat!
  • Thanks Karmacat and hello to everyone else! Yep, that was indeed my very first post...as I've been lurking on here for well over a year, I think that really does show what a dreadful faffer I can be!

Not much to report so far as I think I'll be starting to plan this in earnest over the christmas hols but I got paid today and for the first time in ever so long, I wasn't actually over my overdraft limit which for me is an amazing start to the challenge!:D
Proud to be dealing with my debts!

Current debt: HSBC loan £16,000 HSBC overdraft £1,500 Halifax C/C £1,500

Well i got the money for the ipod touch but didn't get to the bank in time to put it in my account, so this will be the real test as to whether i can keep the cash safe until the bank is open, instead of spending it:confused:

Got paid from gapbuster today, had totally forgotten they owed me any money, so have transferred that straight into my savings account so that i don't spend it.

Well done honeybee on being on target to paying off your first debt. Congrats to everyone else who is persevering with this challenge. Have a merry Christmas everyone.

Have added this into my signature, have only counted overpayments for December not the standard payments because I can't remember when we were meant to start!
