Hi womblebee and welcome. No the 20k is not on top of existing payments, otherwise that would be a hell of a lot of money!

Just wanted to cheer you all on from the sidelines.
Some impressive totals already, although Taxi- Why did a woman wee in your taxi? Worst of all, who cleared it up?
Taxi (if none of you know yet) is going to be doing some sterling work over Christmas with her OH. Double shifts all round isn't it? So I'm thinking that you ought to have some good totals to show after Christmas.
(Make sure you have loads of vomit bags, a sprayer with lavender and tea tree oils for cleaning and getting rid of nasty niffs and some old towels in the boot!)... makes me wonder if you are allowed to cover your seats with towels over plastic and hidden by throws tucked under the seats?

Well done..
I'm still not able to pay off anymore so far this month...just holding out for payday!!0 -
Well done everyone on the achievements so far! DH just got a lovely bonus Christmas cheque, so we have allocated some for our Christmas food delivery and remaining presents, and some into the kiddies account to cover the clubs/dinner money that we haven't managed to budget for yet that are due to be paid in Jan. Left with £115, I managed to talk myself out of putting it aside for a new carpet for our stairs and have paid it straight of a credit card - hooray! Doesn't seem a lot compared with what we still have to pay but am working on the every bit counts theory!!0

This is my second post. I just joined the live off £4K challenge, as I just bought a new house with a £135K mortgage and £4K of credit card debt for furniture.. I'd like it all gone before I'm 50 in 14 years time, so I thought I'd join this challenge too, if you'll have me, to give it all a kick start.
I've done a yougov survey, and all the clicks today, and so far this month my additional money adds up to £488.94 (I had £300 left over from the furniture money and it's on a 0% card so it's in the savings for now) and I ran round the house finding every spare penny to give myself a headstart. So £488.94 down, £19,511.06 to go!

This is my first post but its this thread that has inspired me most so far. I've been here for a while reading and learning and read Martins' first book over the weekend. Am desperately trying to sort out my debt. I have been making efforts for the last few years. We managed to have a balance of the Egg card of nearer £10,000 a few years ago but I've been paying as much as I can off of it and that total is actually something that makes us really proud. All that said I think it will be really inspirational to actaully focus on what we're paying off and knowing what debt we have. I've got to make £20,000 the minimum I pay off my debt this year if I can! I look forward to reading about your successess and truly hope that I can make myself proud this time next year.If you knew it then you know it!

Over 3% paid off already.Debt free in 2010
£6551.35 paid so far.
This WILL be my debt free year! :T0 -
Right although I am not paying off 20,000 I still want to be here and pay off 10,000. is that ok? hope so
this means making a 367 pound payment to my loan every month on top of the 448 regular payment.
essentially anything else I make eg ebay, Green met, Avon will also go on the loan. I will be so HAPPY in dec 08 if I have managed 10,00 pounds, secretly kinda hoping it will be more!!
I am cutting back my spending and thinking about doing a second Job, if only I could get my head round the first one!
I have also joined the 4000 a year thread/challenge. if I can complete these two it would be FANTASTIC.
looking forward to it people!
xxNevertheless she persisted.0
