  • I am off to do a mystery shop tonight, it only pays a fiver but I get £18 expenses, which will pay for both of us to have a meal there!!

  • I'd like to join this challenge as it would make me debt free but I'm not sure I could make so much money. I'm also doing a very naughty thing and booking a holiday to Florida at Easter that I can't afford, but I promised my son we would go when he was 10 and he's 10 in January. I really need some inspiration to do this though, but don't want to fail andmake myself feel worse.......oh, what to do?

  • Hi Spendaholic Chick

There are some other posters on here that have tailored the amount to their own situation, it does sound a bit like you are ready to throw in the towel before you begin and that would be a shame. Personally I am not sure that I will make £20k but if I can do £12-15k then I will be over the moon (and if I can make £20k then wow, I will be a brand new woman!!!)

  • :j Brilliant news (for me) - I just got an existing credit card to take £5600 from my extortionate 29% card for 3% transfer fee and 9 months interest free - would be even better without the transfer fee but will be in a much better position at the end of the 9 months so am hap-hap-happy

Banks might be evil but sometimes they do come through (although it isn't like I haven't paid for it in my time...).

I can clear the balance from extortionate card on Friday (pay day with back pay) and then funnel cash that used to go to there into next the most awful debt!!!

Where are those scissors for the evil card???

    Well done guys!

Polly i'm up for that mini challenge if you are! I want to pay off 2 overdrafts i've got that i'm getting spanked with interest charges on. They total just under 3k. They need to be the first things to go for this challenge and I would like rid of them before I go on holiday on 22nd March 2008.

Spendaholic chick i'm off to florida too!! Its been booked for absolutely ages and a crowd of family are going and I could right do without it while i'm doing this challenge!!!! But it'll be worth it when i'm sat next to the pool celebrating paying off my first 3k!!!!

Off for a walk in the cold back soon!!

I surrender... Ok I'm in... been following this thread since it started but have been chickening out of posting since then :o

Right I'm stopping faffing ;) and signing up (if I'm not to late!!). I have approx £6k in debt and would love to get rid of this by Xmas 08. Means I'll have to find just over £2k on top of my normal overpayments by the end of next year ... aaaaaaahhhhh thats an extra £170/month   :rotfl:

  • poorandindenial - that's fantastic news. Did you just ring them on the off-chance?

Spendaholic chick - you can decide how much you want to aim for, and I don't feel very confident about making the full amount, but this is about casting away the doubts and just going for it :).

    Lauradora - you're on - £3000(ish) by Easter. Is that only 3 months?

    Welcome to all new non-faffers :) .

Loads of you are doing great - well done! I've added the challenge to my sig, and every time I log on, the big zero is staring at me! But was paid on Friday, and the normal payments should come out on Monday, so that's approx £1500 that I can add.

Is it me, or does that feel like cheating? I haven't actually done anything yet, but it will look as though I'm doing brilliantly!

Keep going guys, there's no reason why every one of us can't do this!

I have nothing to report but posting to stay focussed - mainly because I await pay day tomorrow ! Can see it sitting in my account online dated tomorrow but can't touch it. Just looking forward to the day than marbles card statement arrives with a big fat zero !

I messed up on CDWow order yesterday had a £20 pigsback voucher, clicked through checkout. Order confirmation came through, only to be advised it was going to my old address in London (moved 3.5 years ago) guess they thought I was a mystery shopper because it was sorted within the hour by email.

Anyway I'm looking forward to being able to kick start my efforts on this challenge as I've only spent £25 on my one and only 0% card this Christmas everything else has been bought via paypal balance courtesy of selling on ebay.

I love Christmas, more the feeling and anticipation than the event itself. Not a big fan of New Year.

So off to do my Quidco clicks.
