Hi Since taking up this callenge I havent posted on progress so here goes

I have switched my energy supplier by following Martin's guide, I used Quidco to switch which gave £40 cashback but trackedas £60 in quidco so here hoping that it will validate and pay out. And also by switching I save myself £12 a month.:money:

Also used quidco to setup a new A&L bank account and the 0% overdraft should save me about £120 a year, also the quidco as tracked at £50.

So far from doing that I am saving myself £264 a year and a possible £110 in quidco.

I have got a few things ending on ebay this weekend which when added up come to £30 not much but better than nothing.:rotfl:

Also I have upped my payout limit on quidco to £200, if you are like me whenever the odd £20 from quidco goes into bank account it gets used striaght away with noticing it was in there, so this way I should notice it and pay it off debts not spend it:T.

Few that was a long post sorry if i bored you :D.

    Keep saving people!

Feeling a little down today. Got my bill for my car MOT/service/brakes etc £280. I know it could have been much worse but still its a lot of money. I have a bonus coming in next week that will pay it and leave me a lump sum to throw at my debt. So why do I still feel down? Guess maybe its the weather. I resisted temptation last night in the supermarket. I love Haagen Daaz Baileys ice cream but its so hard to get. Well they had it in Tesco's and I managed to walk right past it. Should feel proud of myself but I don't  Anyone else having an off day?

    Oooo can I join please?

My amount is quite a bit lower but still a big challenge for us. We want to clear £5k by xmas 2008. £5k is a large portion of our debt and we would easily be debt free early 2009 if I can get 5k gone in 2008. I'm so eager to get going now .

    Off to see quidco...

(Will add some info to my sig)

    Hy unixgirluk,
    Don't feel so bad.
I'm not having a bad day, but I won't have anything else to put to my debts till OH gets paid at the end of the month.
Its very sad to check your bank account everyday and nothing has happened...oh well

    Chin up!...I say...

Maybe this is sad but whilst tidying my desk i came across £2.43. In the past I might have been tempted to fritter it away in the vending machine but nope its going towards the debt. Drop in the ocean compared to what I owe but its better than frittering it away. Well.........thats what I'm telling myself.

    Right,

I have just bought a flat and underestimated the cost of furniture.
I have now almost £4k on a one year's interest free credit card and I am £1k down on my current account.
I want to have this paid off by November 2008 and have some money saved for a holiday.

Thankfully, I am a nerd when it comes to cutting our monthly spend. And since my partner has no access to cash apart from the one I give him (he is a mature student), we spent event less.

    So,:j bring it on.

Just posted this in my diary, so thought I would copy and paste it in here too as it is fairly relevant to my quest!

I have just had a look at the 20k challenge. I have worked out using my snowball that if I stick to my normal snowballing payments etc I should pay off £12420.77 automatically by the end of 2008.

So, that leaves £7579 to find, of which I have already paid off £804, leaving me £6775 still to find extra, which equates to £565 a month, or £130 a week!

Blimey that is quite a lot extra to find month in month out! I will have to get my thinking head on.........

Perhaps bank charges will rule in our favour.........nope I'm not holding my breath either!

Wow when you put it like that Hypno, it really sounds like a lot of money!

Not much to report from me, however i won an ipod touch for doing a test and vote survey so have listed that on ebay so that should hopefully shove my total up by about £150.

Well done kmfry on all your money saving.
