Just thought I would see how everyone was doing on this challenge....
Just managed to pay another £15 off!!! I know its sad but I enjoy updating my singature and my snowball spreadsheet!!
Finally managed to get through to Nationwide to a customer service advisor that had a brain cell.... Before ive been told i cant cancel the ppi on my loan (which im in the process of claiming back) but this guy i spoke to said to write in recorded delivery and get it cancelled. So ive done this and that will give me an extra £50 each month to pay some stuff off with!!! Also my mobile contract runs out in Feb so that will give me an extra £60 per month (hubby isn't happy with this but not paying for it either!!!)DFW Nerd No: 758  Proud to be dealing with my debts!:T Proud mum to Bon-Scott my amazing 10/10/10 baby0 -
Had a small payment through this morning from [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE], sorry stuff I've been clearing out. £4.14 added to my total and paid off to my overall debt.
Only little extra payments but it feels good.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
Well I don't think I'll be paying off anymore this month. Will probably have to wait till next payday now...but its great coming on here and seeing how well you guys are all doing.
I'm still trying to stay motivated and so I'm clicking and filling in surveys...just little things...0 -

£60 paid off today, worked out that I potentially could have one small debt paid off by this time next week, I'm feeling rather happy that I can see the progress and cancel it of my payments list on internet banking!Debt free in 2010

Afternoon everyone...great to read of peoples payments and yes, every little bit does add up over the year...
remember..look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves..my granny used to say..reminds me will count my copper jar0 -
Ooooh - I don't get on here very often and now I've found this thread. Can I spiritually join in the challenge with you? My debt is in the signature and I want it gone by the time I'm a married woman (Christmas 08). My minimum payments are about £758 and to be debt free by Christmas I need to find an additional £582 a month.
Now, this should be achievable all the while I'm staying with the in-laws BUT.. I'm losing my job in the summer and it's unlikely I'll find something that doesn't require a pay cut AND, I'm saving for our wedding AND my car is showing desperate signs that after 93,000 miles it just doesn't want to play any more. So three potential very large spanners in the works there.
So, by spiritually joining the thread I shall root for you all, although I don't often get the chance to post. And keeping an eye on your progress should hopefully keep me on the straight and narrow! Hope that's ok.
Good luck everyone, here's to Christmas (2008 that is).

NOW TOTALLY DEBT FREE!!!!!!!! Woooo hooooooo!!! DEBT FREE DATE: 23 December 20090 -
Hello, I would love to join you - my sig needs updating as Ive managed to transfer the whole of my citicard debt onto a 0% card - which means even more can actually go towards repaying the debt. I can empathise with so much of what Ive read on this thread - Like everyone else, I can scrimp and save for pennies and then waste pounds, but 2008 is the year I really want to see a difference - On 1st Jan 2009 I will be 35 and the day after DH will be 40 - so Im in it for the whole £20k and see if I can seriously bring that figure down in 2008!
Go Go Everyone :T0 -
Wow, I am impressed, which card allowed you to transfer all the money to a 0% card???
