    Welcome Wilkster! :D

I've just adjusted my nasty cc figure, another couple of pounds from an amazon sale.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

    Hi there

I'd like to join in please. I was starting up in a half hearted way for December 08, but this one will get me doing all sorts of things I've never done before. My actual debt is less - about £9400 at the mo - but my house is in desperate need of being rewired and replumbed - the electrics started fizzling last year, and needed a trip from both the fire brigade and the emergency electrician they recommended. So £20k is just right.

I'm in the Olympic Challenge, and will stay with that for the bits and bobs (and big chunks), and go with this for the Big Chunks!

  • Hello! can I join too? I have been lurking on this site for about a year and faffing about rather than doing anything properly for that time! But this post has really inspired me and I'm determined that 2008 will be the year for lots of changes!

I'm going to aim for 10k and see how I go from there!
Proud to be dealing with my debts!

Current debt: HSBC loan £16,000 HSBC overdraft £1,500 Halifax C/C £1,500

    Stop faffing around challenge - £10,000 -743.09/9,256.91
    Lunch log challenge #23 -£2.97
Hoping to be debt free by June 2010 (30th Birthday!)

Hi all, glad to see so many new faces. Well my ipod touch sold for £170 which is fab. However i am not including the money until i have been given it, the person is going to pay and collect on Sat so i will stick it straight in the savings account out of my reach before it gets gobbled up in my current account.

Otherwise not much from me. I sold some things on ebay and made £7 profit, not much but a start. I was very pleased with myself today though as i was tempted to hunt round a load charity shops and high street stores looking for a bargain and something to put on Amazon/ebay when i decided i would be faffing. If i had gone i would have only ended up buying a load of junk i didn't really need and things to list on Amazon/ebay that was unlikely to sell. I know this, because i am always doing this, thinking i've found a book which is worth something, only to find out that it wont sell! I end up spending pounds in order to earn pennies, so no more faffing!!

Well, I paid £50 off my ski debt today, so that helps, and I am about to make a payment to OH credit card before I forget, but after that I am pretty sure that my debt will move slowly for the next couple of months.

I am waiting for clearance to start a new job, and it is taking forever. I had hoped to start at the end of November and the current forecast is the middle of January. Needless to say this is not helpful to a DFW and so I have had to take payment holidays for my loans (thankfully at low APRs and only minimal difference to overall payment) for January and February to get us through this dry spell of money.

So, the signature will alter slowly for the next couple of months, but after that I am hoping to be pretty productive in the old debt reduction department :D

Can I do this too? For £15k, which will be my normal mortgage payments plus £5800 overpayment. I'm not too bad on saving up now but actually parting with the money for the mortgage when I will have nothing physical to show for it and no real way of getting it back is stopping me making that move! Including my normal monthly payments will make me feel that I am achieving more, even though I'd have to pay them anyway!
