Aww Guesty, sorry to hear the loan got declined and that your plan hasn't worked out the way you hoped it would. At least you are staying positive and thinking of other options.:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

Hi everyone,
Good to see you are all doing so well:T
Sorry to hear about the loan Guesty, but I've found in the past when something hasn't come off like that I've been grateful it didn't in the future - ( expensive sofas, buying a flat with part of the mortgage deffered, buy now pay later holiday etc ) you'll find a way around it I'm sure:DComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

I have had much more success with Lloyds loans company over the phone than by going through the branch.
In the branch the [strike]sales assistant[/strike] account manager laid it really heavy on me and cajoled me into consolidation of credit cards and a 7.9% loan into an 11.9% loan (I can't believe I was so stupid) with absolutely crippling payments, about a year later I spoke to the telephone people, went through to retentions (I may have mentioned bankruptcy and got as bit hysterical - things were really quite bad, I hadn't missed any payments yet but the end was nigh as my credit was fast running out) but the lovely lovely man on the phone calmed me down, did a spot of debt counselling and arranged me a 6.4% loan to cover the first one over the same term as was left on the first loan and my payments dropped to an affordable rate, the overall amount of interest to pay dropped and my debt stopped going up each month.
EDIT: I am in no way advocating consolidation as a solution, but if it is right for you and you are going to do it you might as well do it as well as you can:D£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Hi All, added my cc payment to my total. Feel like I'm treading water and not really getting anywhere fast as any extra money I have is going on fuel and food. My car loan end in October (unfortunately thought it was September), which will free up a large chunk every month so roll on October. My Mum has offered me a few days away with her and she's offered to pay! Haven't told my OH yet and not sure how he'll take it!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

Unixgirl, your still doing really well, hopefully things will get easier soon. Know what you mean about food costs though, am really having to scrimp and save on that at the mo. However in a good way i suppose, my boyfriend has decided he is vegeterian now, so weve been eating less meat over the past two weeks, although i find it a struggle to make meals without meat, at least it saves us spending loads on meat.
I am just updating my totals as i had a small amount come in from Amazon and £20 from a survey site i'm with. Every little bit helps and i like the little payments as they help to keep me motivated.:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

I've really started noticing how much food has gone up & petrol, not that I use a lot, I walk as much as I can, much to my little boys disgust!
Andan, I'm not a veggie, but whilst hubby's not here, so no-one to complain about the lack of meat, i tend to use a lot of mushrooms, beans & pulses to bulk things out for me, though still nice to have a roast chicken from time to time & use the leftovers for curry etc. I do like veggie food, especially big fat breakfast mushrooms on the BBQ, I just drizzle olive oil on them & chopped garlic & basil, they are to die for. (Note to self- must get some in next weeks shopping)
Unixgirl, go for the break, it'll do you the world of good;)Comping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

Hi everyone.
Nothing to report, but just dropping in to see how everyone is doing.
This is the hardest time of the month for motivation for me - this month's pay's all gone and it's a couple of weeks until the DMP payments actually hit so that I can update my totals.
I'm just plugging away with the day-to-day stuff and trying to remind myself it will be worth it.

I know what you mean Polly, payday 2 weeks away and I can't wait to bump this total up. Ebay is very slow recently and items that are usually snapped up are left unsold.Debt free in 2010
£6551.35 paid so far.
This WILL be my debt free year! :T0 -
Hi All,
Guesty6 - bad news about the loan, but it could be for the best - I have been stupid by taking a loan more than once and now I have a pile of debt which I think has finally taught me a bit of a lesson albeit its taken about 10 years to learn!!!
Sad bunny side-
Not doing very well at the moment, I started doing Ann Summers parties and have been let down by several friends, one of my orders was nicked so had to refund everyone and a couple of the AS samples have been stolen (no idea how)And just ordered a digital camera from catolouge:(
Sorry just wanted to get that off my chest, it really got me down.
On the happy bunny side-
I have £300 in savings but that is being spent on a car. Its a really old banger and im really please with it. Its got 10 months MOT and tax runs out at end of May, because im buying of a friend, they are letting me pay half now and the rest at the end of may when I get paid, thus not leaving me short after having to buy tax
Thanks for listening, boss has arrived back so I should look like im doing something work related!!!
Havent changed signeture but have paid off £3677.66 so far (im aiming to pay £10000 by xmas)
Big hugs to everyone
