Private Parking Charge- overstaying in Supermarket car park during Covid-19 lockdown/social distance

That's really good news. I was hopeful that the charge would be cancelled. It would have been very bad PR for them if this had got into the press especially after all the support that they are giving to the NHS.
I do hope that when this crisis is over some of these supermarkets consider managing their car parks themselves. After all with possibly more people shopping online there will not be any need to contract themselves to organisations that harass and bully their customers. Just make a small charge for an overstay and donate it to the NHS.

I always include the phase
I am sure that behaviour/conduct of this nature does not reach the high standards to which you no doubt aspire. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.6 -

It's a very uncomplicated equation. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The other issue is the unrealistic time limits being set with no rhyme or reason
ECP give 3 hours on my local Morrisons , Parking Eye give 4 hours on crown point North shopping centre , I have never been a fan of 90 minutes on any car park , even 2 hours on the Beavis car park caused issues
You tend to find that they may start with a reasonable time limit of 3 hours , then reduce it over time to trap more victims in order to increase revenue , but the store or stores lose out and die
The Peel centre in Stockport was infamous for these issues , so much so that stores failed and excel lost the franchise to care parking5 -

But, if people just read the signs when entering a car park and comply (such a simple process to build into the autopilot)
A judge recently pointed out tha one OPA sign ran to over 700 words, no doubt eight foot in the ais and with sme minute print.
How many people would yu say would bother to read that? Have you read this thread?
