Thankful for nice weather, getting out in the garden, not having enough laundry to put a load on today (not sure how I've managed that!!), chocolate, the NHS (it *is* Thursday, after all
) and the bin men - 3 separate lorries in our tiny cul de sac today, collecting garden waste and different sorts of recycling

it feels like it's been a busy day but I'm struggling to think what I've done. Went out early to post a card and letter for mum. Only met one man and his dog. Brought things from the shed, made up an order but there were no delivery slots so will try again tomorrow, mum and I both had a second helping of yesterday's beef stew (I strained mine to get all the meat and veg). Cleaned the bathroom a bit at a time. Cooked brisket with loads of veg and the leftover juice from the stew and bacon soup, finished off the sugar free jelly with berries. Changed the dressings on mum's leg - nearly completely healed. Watched a marathon session of Luther with mum.
Today I am grateful for suncream and moisturisers, for lovely lovely food, for my seedlings doing well, for Luther and St Trinian's (mum watched it).

Glad to hear that your mum's wound is nearly healed, mothernerd. It has taken a lonnnng time.Turtles - look in your cupboards. Are there any lurking items that have 'been there a while'? Try to find a way to use them. Or bin/compost them . Free the space!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!8

Went out a lovely long walk yesterday but the opposite side of the river to our usual walk. Ended up slightly 'lost' as in we knew exactly where we were looking across the river but had no real idea of how to get home from where we were
Yesterday I was grateful for where we live (in a city but access to so many nice walks), telephone check up appointment with my surgeon, zoom call with friends, day off work and finally finishing my puzzle.
Apple - I did a big sort out of the kitchen cupboards about 6 weeks ago and got rid of some stuff that had been there a while, mostly alcohol that I got from a friend's cupboard after she moved abroad. She's now been away for about 4 yearsso it was definitely time to get rid of it.

So far, I have spotted half a packet of extremely dried up sun-dried tomatoes and a small carton of organic tofu...

Ooh - those tomatoes could still be good in a pasta dish or risotto maybe?I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £205

Rehydrate the tomatoes in oil with some dried herbs, and put it in a glass jam jar and be all hipster-mum apple. Those cartons of tofu are supposed to be good for chocolate mousse. If I remember correctly they are the soft variety, even the firm is not terribly firm. Very good for scrambled tofu as well, or a quiche filling.I am just back from the shop, where I managed to get my vegan and gluten free chocolate covered toffee ice cream cones (2 packs for £1 (8 cones) instead of £3.99 for 1 pack in the supermarket) yay for Her0n. 220 cal per cone.I have dropped another lb - yay! One and a half stone loss now - go me!the boiler has stopped working - boo!The part that is making the horrible noise is £170 without labour - boo!Waiting in on the plumbery/ heatery man, who is already an hour late - boo!At least I have taken 2 kids for a walk / bike ride / scoot to get in a bit of exercise - yay!Read a whole book yesterday, started a new one last night and did not want to go to bed, but did, because allegedly I am a grown up and have to be able to get up in the morning and be able to function and all that totally overrated jazz.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I disappeared again sorry.F0xh0les - hope the plumber turned up and it all goes well
mothrrnerd - no idea what happened but I glad that you have been vindicated
Nothing to report here, work, being stuck in a rut and general laziness
Grateful for some cute observations from LOs nursery, being able to rectify OH mistake in getting diced beef instead of mince out the freezer without having to throw anything away, finishing Oliver Twist, for a sunny day and for OH chopping down a branch on our walk to nursery (with owners permission, we just got bored of ducking all the time)8 -
Apologies for forgetting to check in over the last few days, I'm not sure why as I'm not busy so there's no excuse! Nothing much to report other than finding a car I like the look of to replace my broken one, so will make enquiries. Continuing with cleaning and DIY. I'm actually glad I've started because I always make an excuse not to do it!
Like others here I'm pretty much sticking to the 'old' rules of quarantine as I don't want to be complacent. Where I live cases are really low now but that doesn't mean we shouldn't still be careful.
Need to pop to wilko later and get a few bits for the rabbits as we're running dangerously low.7 -
Today I am grateful for cracking on with planning, for being able to have a go at playing badminton with dd, for a good chat with my neighbour, for dd coping with troublesome tech during her listening exams today, for cake, for starting my 1000 piece marmite jigsaw.
