Planted two fruit trees (only 5 left to go). One of them went in an old style bin so involved dragging 3 " worth of stones for the bottom (it has several holes for drainage) and 3 40 l tubs of soil and lots of large buckets of water (to various parts of the garden). Planted some chives outside by the path (have a small one inside - put it in a larger size pot 2 days ago, watered it and it's got a flower).
Grateful for the things I have done (so much more to do), eating leftovers (no energy to think about what to have), toast, finally getting an Icelandy delivery slot, salt and pepper crackers (was craving crisps), hot showers, the roses and lavender finally arriving. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -
Try to be like the turtle – at ease in your own shell.-Bill Copeland'I’m bored’ is a useless thing to say. I mean, you live in a great, big, vast world that you’ve seen none percent of. Even the inside of your own mind is endless; it goes on forever, inwardly, do you understand? The fact that you’re alive is amazing, so you don’t get to say ‘I’m bored. - Louis C.K.I’ll probably never fully become what I wanted to be when I grew up, but that’s probably because I wanted to be a ninja princess. - Cassandra Duffy“Optimist: someone who figures that taking a step backward after taking a step forward is not a disaster, it’s more like a cha-cha.” Robert Brault

Where has the day gone? It is almost 3pm and all I have done is Andrew Marr, changed my bed, drunk coffee and eaten lunch. Oh, and watered the plants in't yard. The day has sped away. Will line dry sheets and any/all laundry, finish my book, and moisturise my hands, as I have forgotten for the last few days and now they are in a shocking state. Honestly I could smooth down wood with them.Today is NSD 12 or 13, not quite sure, so I will stick with 12 to be on the safe side. My car has it's new tyre (was on January's list of things to do, but as I have barely driven for the last 3 months will not beat myself up about it), I went to the Korean shop up the road and got the bits we had run out of, the kids have ice cream in the freezer, the house is vaguely clean, and Boiler Bob has fixed the water heating, so there were a few 'unexpected' expenses, but the budget is still healthy and we are all (mostly) in good health (DH is falling apart at the seams - waiting for an MRI scan appt now) and surprisingly good spirits (except Captain Grumpy of Cartilage).Well that laundry is not going to hang itself out, and I am afraid the German Bundesliga is leaving me cold.PS Dieting is b-o-r-i-n-g, but I did try on some of my clothes I hoicked out of 'Summer Storage' this morning, and most of them fit now. So that is a bonus! Nowhere to go, but if I did, I would not have to go shopping - although I fear I may need a belt for my underwear by next week.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well the first couple of hours were productive today and then the lurgie hit again. Himself sent me back to bed because I was looking really tired and I've only just got up but not for long. My head feels like cotton wool and my stomach doesn't know where it is. There's a lovely gammon joint cooking with pineapple in the slow cooker but whether I'll be able to eat much is another question. All I want to do is drink water. Should be ready in about another hour. Still it can be sliced up and used tomorrow.
Tomorrow's another day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.4 -
Good Afternoon!!!
Having a lovely relaxing yet productive day. Batch cooked up a load of quorn chilli using up veg and emptying freezer stores a little. Made up 3 salad boxes for work, some tuna mayo and some sweet potato wedges to scoff now!!! Wished I had been keeping track of my NSDs as I think I am doing really well this month!!! Must be on 10 or so at least!!!
Today I am grateful for:
1) A chat with a good friend
2) For having lots of food in so I could stay squirreled up in my cosy flat haha
3) My sister for being so generous buying me a goody bag for getting my new job!
For the rest of the day I am going to cast an eye over my budgets and make sure they are all on track... Then watch a movie and relax for the night.
Have a good evening everyone

Evening all, hope everyone has had a good weekend. Not much happened here, but have wracked up two more NSD's. Went to see my sister yesterday from the doorstep to exchange gifts as it's soon to be our respective birthdays. We're not really big birthday people but it feels weird to not be able to go and sit and have a cuppa. I always visit my parents for a few days around my birthday so I'm going to miss that, I'm normally very happy in my own company but am missing my parents I must say.
Other than that, had a lovely horse ride this morning - although it's like piccadilly circus out there at the moment dodging walkers and cyclists! Have also done my steps over the weekend and my stretches for my back.6 -
my legs and arms didn't want to work this morning. Sat on the shower stool and let water pour down me until I felt vaguely human. Finished off the brisket for lunch with carrots, cauli and broccoli and mashed potatoes. One portion of mashed potato in the fridge and as many potatoes again to peel and cook for a weekday meal. Made two large quiches, one with mushrooms, peppers and red onion the other with broccoli and cheese. used up a variety of oddments from the fridge for food and snacks.
Went out after lunch and dug up the chinodoxia and tulips that mum has decided to put somewhere else - well she said between the fence and the edging and I said she needed to be more specific. I had to burrow through 4 - 6 inches of stones before I got to the soil and when I was doing the tulip, I managed to find a small piece of dead rose branch with large thorns. Went back out later, watered some things, moved buckets of water near to where things need watering, planted several types of beans in large yoghurt pots, used a large pottery pot on the paper bin, to weight down the stuff in there and have made room to add about 3 small boxes worth of paper.
Mum tried to be helpful this morning. She threw out the glass jars that were lined up in the kitchen. Unfortunately she dropped them into the garden/ food waste bin by mistake, including one broken glass jar. So I had to turn the bin upside down and sift through all the decomposing veg, rooting out pieces of broken glass. I did use some thickish rubber gloves.
Today I am grateful for getting things done when I really didn't feel like doing anything (lots of plodding happening here, hoping things fall into place eventually), for lovely food, for there being enough bananas so that I can have some, for hot showers, for things growing. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -
