Good afternoon ladies. I am off today as I have the electrician to do the electrics I mentioned earlier. Since I have time on my hands, I have been sorting through some bags just to shred what I can and I found this tattered completion statement for my house purchase and thought it will be good to have it on this thread.

Interesting how you have this build up with money really piling up in your account and then you need the bulk as deposit(10%) then the rest to complete and you are like wiped out. So paid £64k initially then had to send balance of £111690. Interesting how money changes hands!  I also note that my solicitor was reasonably priced at £885! Stamp duty was a bit of an ouch moment!

@sistergold - I love this! Amazing low fees for legals but just shows how far you have come too in your journey. The figures are scary but all kudos to you :)

Just think - you could have had an absolutely amazing holiday with that stamp duty.... Best not thinking about it
Yes best not think about the holiday I could have had! Having said that Covid has made it such that it was good not planning on holidays. In the end looks like for our mental health it was good to invest in something with good outside space! Have been on staycation since 2019 now, so £22k well spent. 🥳

So ladies, dare I ask but has anyone put up their trees and decs yet?
Yes, I brought down the tree from the loft last weekend. We have assembled it, not decorated it yet but some wall decorations are up! So yes we have moved into the spirit of Christmas already! The children were picked up last night by their dad and will be back on Sunday. Today is insert day for them. So will finish decorations after the weekend when they get back. Xx

    Good morning laddies
I hope you are all okay especially those in Scotland or up north with the past snow storm? My thoughts are with you and I hope electricity and all will be sorted soon.

    Update
Have just called the WestBrom and increased my OP to £999.99 which is the maximum per month I am allowed. I want to see how long I can pay that amount. I am hoping I can hold on until at least my balance gets to below £399k. I am feeling a bit impatient and so decided to bite the bullet and slow my other savings a bit. Fingers crossed I can tolerate paying that much! Xx

The ongoing issue of Mr Fox
Well if you have been on this thread for a while you will remember my past “tales” of Mr fox and how we are constantly fighting for territory? Well one possible problem for them getting into the back garden was that maybe there were broken fences? Well looks like Mr Fox does not even need the fence to be broken to get in! Past two days I have now seen Mr Fox walking on top of the fence! You know how squirrels run on the top of the fence, Mr Fox can also jump up and walk around on top! My 1.8m fence does not keep the foxes away. The fence is all intact and so no gaps. I give up😤
This is him in the garden 👇🏾

LOL at the fox. Perhaps you need some pets to see him off?

LOL @savingholmes, after coping with 4 children I swore I will never get a pet, to me it’s just another live responsibility! I just want to be able to lock the door and go when they all grow up! Lol

I get that I really do. Ex took the dog although I have her this weekend - and I kept the cat... I still feel almost as responsible for them as my kids...

I do get it though pets for companionship, love etc but mmm I just feel drained by the responsibility for now.
