In the meantime I'm embarrassed to admit I lost £30 on the slots yesterday. I had a free bonus but ended up putting my own money in. That really was the last one though!!!!
    Seriously, address the addiction NOW

Go on it, like as soon as you read this, fill out the details, there's no reason you can't block. The Myers Book I listed says it's all about creating your OWN rock bottom cause if we don't we'll end up on the streets with no friends or family left we can speak to and the road back from there is 100 times more difficult (at least).

I'm serious, I visualised myself saddled with debt in a bedsit, no contact with wife or kids and it was like a bucket of cold water round my shoulders. Slots don't seem appealing then.

You can do it; gamstop, you'll feel a thousand times better when its done.
I self excluded with GamStop and within 24hrs I'd received emails saying my accounts had been closed (some I forgot I had) I did mine for 5 years which was the max.
    These☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝

As Nike wud say; just do it....
Honestly I have tried! But they can't verify my identity sadly. I'll keep trying.

I have decided I won't gamble today. Just today. I will go hour by hour if need be. Maybe minute by minute. But from here on in I will not gamble.

Thanks to all for their support so far.

Not my area but if they can’t find your details for whatever reason then what else can you do?

Don’t think your hour by hour method will work. Not to be pessimistic...but you’re going to be itching the whole time that way...

That is so bizarre; if you are registered with casinos or bookmakers with UK gambling licences it should be no problem getting a blanket self exclusion. Then your stress of having to avoid is lifted: it would be like an alcoholic walking around with the key to the drinks cabinet in their back pocket. To start with tho, self exclude from.every site you're registered with or play with.

There's a start we know will definitely work: otherwise you'll be on this site in 6 months time distraught that your debt is £40,000 and quoting "if onlys"...

Yes, I don't have the details they need. I got the below email from them, I've taken out my name at the start. I just don't have any photo ID, I don't have a passport and I've not seen my drivers licence in years (ironically I have a photo of it on my phone, which I've used for gambling registration before. How stupid is that.)

    Dear XXXXXXX

Thank you for providing us with your registration details for GAMSTOP. Before we can process your GAMSTOP application, we will need to manually confirm your identity.

We now require you to provide the following documentation:

1 copy of your photographic ID such as a drivers licence or passport. To ensure that this documentation is yours, you will need to provide us with a photo of you holding the identification, with the document in clear and full view.

2 copies of proof of your address. These must be dated within the last 3 months.

Please use the button below to upload your documents.

***Please do not send any identity documents via email - the link in this email is the most secure way of providing them to us.***

To be honest I don't need gamstop anyway. I am so, so motivated to stop. Every hour I spend a minute just reflecting on the fact I won't gamble, just for this hour. It's working really well.

The debt is the issue, not the gambling. The gambling has stopped.

You said a few days ago you weren't going to gamble again then lost money on the online slots. You need Gamstop.

If that’s the case then sorting Gamstop shouldn’t be an issue for you.

If you can’t find your license then order a new one and get it done.
